PSYchology

Internal benefits are primary and secondary. Primary — what a person wanted from the very beginning, intentionally, secondary — what keeps a person in the problematic state that he received.

Often, the internal benefit can be both primary and secondary at the same time: the wife complains that her husband rarely comes, although in fact it suits her quite well.

Also, internal benefits can be distinguished:

  • rational (it seems to a person that it is beneficial),
  • psychological (irrational, he himself does not understand why it is bad without it — as a rule, these are problematic dynamics)
  • obsolete (a person comes from some old habits and attitudes, it is the easiest to change).

Examples of intrinsic benefits of problem behavior:

  • Victim of treason

From the report

I periodically have a state of depression, which I turn on in order to allow myself to do nothing. Perhaps you can allow yourself sometimes to do nothing and not cause yourself depression for this. A good alternative is to formulate rest periods with heartfelt pleasure↑.
