Happiness is diverse, just like you and me. The main types of happiness:

  • Happiness as knowledge and understanding

Men more often live by the mind, and for them happiness is when they see it, understand it, know it. «The world is beautiful, I know it and I see it.» Understanding when achieving the main thing: getting the most important things, realizing the most important motives.

Solon said: “One can talk about happiness only after the death of a person, looking at the whole of his life and his death. If a person lived with dignity and died for his homeland, he lived a happy life.” In ancient Greece, every Greek, both old and young, both men and women, knew what real happiness is and who is a happy person. It had nothing to do with feelings, it had to do with facts: a happy person is one who lived a decent life, had a good family and died for his homeland. Now, if you died in battle for your homeland, you had a good family, and you lived your life as a decent person, then everyone will tell you that you lived a happy life. This is a completely different vision than the modern one, but perhaps as a result of such a vision, Ancient Greece remained in the memory of mankind as the cradle of civilization.

It happens that this knowledge: “I am happy!” — comes later. “God, what a fool I am! I was really happy in those years, but I didn’t understand it!”

When understanding «This is happiness!» — the experience of happiness at the same time is relevant to someone, not to someone.

  • Happiness as an experience.

As an experience, happiness can be a calm experience, it can be a sharp one. “I know that I am happy, and I feel, feel, experience it, but I feel natural, quiet and calm.” And there are acute experiences of happiness, peak experiences with a release of energy, deep and vivid experiences, violent psychosomatics.

Mentally healthy adults do not strive for constant peak, acute experiences of happiness — they do not really need such experiences, they are too energy-consuming and sometimes distracting. More private choices — out of contact with others, mentally healthy adults choose life in the understanding that it is happiness (without experiencing), in contacts with others they often choose to experience calm happiness and joy (it’s good to please and support others), and several times in a day they arrange for themselves and others acute experiences of happiness (holidays, albeit small ones, unite people well and reinforce the necessary views and decisions).

What is happiness, what is happiness?

Happy is he who finds what he seeks. But different people are looking for something different …

  • Cheerful children (cheerful adults in a childish state) are looking for joy, for them happiness is the accumulation of joy. Receiving, accumulating and experiencing the joy of life.
  • The negative person is (shortly) happy when the misfortune is gone, the dreamer is happy as long as he sees a beautiful future through reality.
  • Someone is looking for quiet satisfaction, if he gets enough of it, he is happy. For him, happiness is when he is satisfied. A person who seeks a variety of experiences finds happiness in a change of experiences. For the seeker of love, happiness is the accumulation of love. Tired seekers of peace, for them happiness is peace. The doer is looking for a result, for him happiness is a result.

Happiness inside and out

The inner picture of happiness: the world is spacious and bright, filled with colors and harmonious sounds, a feeling of lightness and strength. Happiness is beauty in the house of the soul.

External signs of happiness: a person at the moment of experiencing happiness externally (from the inside) shines, he likes the way he lives, he joyfully shows everyone that he likes it, and he likes himself.

The state of internal happiness is not always and not necessarily similar to external happiness. A happy person, a person in a high emotional tone, can someday be angry with himself, fight with his fears and weaknesses, get angry and swear at others — and do all this joyfully!
