Description of the most popular types of geranium

Most often, on the windows of apartments and offices, you can find zonal pelargonium. This unpretentious plant has many varieties and species. All geraniums of this type have an erect trunk, bright green foliage with brown or red edging. They are distinguished by long and bright flowering, the leaves are pubescent and, when touched, emit a peculiar smell.

Another type of geranium is royal pelargonium. This is a very beautiful, but somewhat capricious plant. The flower requires increased attention, warmth and vibrant color. But the beautiful geranium will thank for all the efforts with huge, up to 20 cm in diameter, inflorescences. Flowers can be simple and double, of very different colors.

A characteristic feature of royal pelargonium is the presence of a dark spot or stripes on the petals. In addition, the drooping leaves of the plant resemble a maple leaf.

Fragrant geranium is very popular among flower growers. If the plant is touched, the scent of lemon or mint will spread through the air. Some pelargoniums smell like rose, strawberry or jasmine. In addition to a pleasant smell, fragrant geranium blooms with beautiful flowers of a purple or pink hue.

Any geranium, whatever you choose, will decorate the house with lush and bright flowers, fill it with beauty and comfort.
