Second session of the course. Exercise «I love myself.» Nikolai Ivanovich summons 10 volunteers. I am not among them. The question sounds to the whole hall: “Why didn’t you come out?”

And really, why?

We didn’t get many. And the reasons were different. But I didn’t like my answer. I got scared. Decided not to go on the rampage. Don’t put yourself in an awkward situation. Inside there was a feeling of fear, confusion, and some other nagging feeling around the solar plexus.

Second

My own answer hung in my head and gradually mixed up with the topic of the second session — managing emotions.

The third

The third ingredient was the exercise “Don’t play the victim. I am the author!

And compote!

The decision came unexpectedly and in pictures. So: if my inner feelings of fear, embarrassment, tightness in my chest give me a signal: “STOP, don’t, don’t go,” I, as the author of my state, have the right to redefine my inner feelings.

So, starting from RIGHT NOW, these feelings will mean:

“THIS IS A PRESENTATION! THERE IS DEFINITELY NECESSARY! DO IT FAST!”

It’s simple: change the red button to green!

We change the scary background screensaver image to a pleasant landscape.

And it worked!

In practice it looks like this:

  • Situation: “I don’t want to call this person” (You never know what kind of mood? What if I interfere?)

Capture the feeling: «Yeah, that’s it!»

Turn on the green button «Forward»!

Result: a constructive conversation took place, which revealed several inconsistencies, after the elimination of which, the common cause not only moved, but rushed forward.

  • Situation: “I don’t want to do it. It’s difficult, and there are people who can definitely do better.”

Capture the feeling: «Yeah, that’s it!»

Turn on the green button «Forward»!

Result: launched a new promising project. The process was more fun than I thought.

  • Situation: “Get up early in the morning? Yes, I’m an owl. And my activity increases in the evening!

Capture the feeling: «Yeah, that’s it!»

Turn on the green button «Forward»!

Result: the day has become longer, the body gets used to it and in the morning I already do quite well what I didn’t have the strength or time for in the evening!

Summary:

It turns out to choose the meaning of emotions — in our hands!

My «green button» is already consciously turned on and I am preparing it to go into automatic mode.

Surely there are other ways to positively-effectively reinvent yourself. Turn on your inner green light and

FORWARD! The path is open! We are in the green wave of traffic lights!
