As for the spread, to make it a working tool in your effective communication, I recommend taking a bright and smart film and, turning off the sound, track:

  • which side, left or right? — the characters turn (turn their heads) to each other,
  • reduce or increase the distance,
  • How does their facial expression change?
  • when and why they turn their backs to each other …

By what signs can you guess that the characters are set to communicate? Are you ready to end the conversation? Who opens up and seeks openness, who is not interested? Who is now on the attack, who is on defense? Who is more interested in whom?

You must select a location «face to face», when do you want:

  • Emphasize respect and affection for the person who is talking to you,
  • Emphasize the business nature of the conversation,
  • If you want to say something important, which must be noted.
  • Including when you want to shoot a person with some phrase. If you are sitting on the side — do not be lazy, get up, go to a more advantageous position and throw it right in the face.

On the other hand, if you need to prevent confrontation and lead the person to positions of cooperation, look for an opportunity to get away from the position «opposite», from the position «face to face» and settle down shoulder to shoulder.

They just took a step towards the interlocutor, turned around, were next to him — three points, three seconds! — and many issues are resolved already easier!
