Housewives often dislike bird wings: there is too little meat on them, it dries quickly when baked. The hassle of preparing the wings often does not seem worth the end result, with the exception of the large juicy wings of a turkey. There is almost as much meat on one wing of this bird as on an average chicken thigh.
Grilled turkey wings recipe
To cook Jamaican style turkey wings, you will need: – 2,5–3 kilograms of turkey wings; – 3 cups of Jamaican condiment; – 1 tablespoon of thyme leaves; – 1 teaspoon of ground allspice; – 1 glass of water; – 4 green onion feathers.
Jamaican Seasoning is a traditional Caribbean spice mix. It consists of the following ingredients, chopped in a blender: – 6 green onion feathers; – 3 hot peppers of the “Scottish Beret” variety; – 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves; – 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon; – 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg; 1 teaspoon brown cane sugar – ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar; – 1 tablespoon of olive oil. This amount is enough for ¾ cup of the mixture.

Before grilling, the wings of the turkey should be marinated and lightly baked. In a large deep bowl, combine the Jamaican seasoning, chopped garlic, thyme, and allspice, add water and mix well, whisking well. Place the wings in the marinade, cover with cling film and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
After marinating, gently peel off the marinade from each wing and place the wings on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 170 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and chill the wings.
You can grill the wings right after baking, or refrigerate them for up to 2-3 days and cook later.
Prepare the grill, it is better to smoke the turkey in the haze of burnt apple or cherry wood. Roast the wings over the grill for 3 minutes on each side, the skin on the wings should be a nice dark brown color.
To bake turkey wings in honey, you will need: – 4 large cloves of garlic; – ½ cup of liquid light honey; – 3 tablespoons of dark soy sauce; – 3 tablespoons of lemon juice; – 2 tablespoons of chopped ginger root; 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds – 1,5 kilograms of turkey wings.
In a deep baking dish, combine chopped garlic, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice and ginger, put washed and dried turkey wings, rub them well with marinade, tighten with cling film and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Pour the marinade into a separate saucepan, bake the wings in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Bring the marinade to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes. Increase the heat in the oven to 240 degrees, pour the boiled marinade over the wings and bake for another 10 minutes, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
