Truthful divination: a sad story from life

🙂 Hello, regular readers and guests of the site! “Truthful fortune-telling” is a real story that took place during the Great Patriotic War. There was a time that just one phrase could go to jail.

Faith in victory

Valentina Sergeevna’s youth fell on the war. The only leisure time for young people in those years was cinema and evening walks along the river bank. It all started when, walking with her friends, she suddenly found herself in the spotlight of a military armored boat. And all summer long a bright ray of light always chose her.

Once on the street, Valentina was stopped by a tall guy in a peakless cap, judging by the insignia – a foreman. In the hands – flowers. We talked, got to know each other, made an appointment. Soon he confessed his love to her and said that it was he who illuminated Valentina with the spotlight.

Do not have time to get married – and separation. Part of the crew of that very boat was sent to the front. The woman took care of the front letters from her husband all her life. Her dream of the return of her lover was cut short by a funeral.

In those early years, the entire Soviet people believed in a quick victory. How could it be otherwise? We will definitely win! Valentina, in grief in front of witnesses, choking on tears, said:

– Yes, they will all be killed there!

“Oh, if you doubt the victory of the Soviet people, you are welcome to the bunk.” She remembered the investigator conducting the case without anger. Only once did she mention: during interrogation, she had a miscarriage.

Do not trust, do not fear, do not ask!

In the cell, to pass the time, the women sometimes wondered. At the edges of the circle, they made risks, on which they put numbers: five, ten, and so on until twenty-five – how much to sit. Another mark was made – a tower.

The mug was filled with water, a sliver, torn from the bunks, was placed on the surface and spun in the manner of a top. When the chip stopped, they looked at which figure the sharp end showed. Such a period shone on the fortuneteller.

Sliver predicted a five-year term for Valentina. The prisoners did not believe – they, the political ones, were not given less than ten years. We repeated the fortune-telling – the result is the same. When the chip pointed to the five for the third time, they waved their hand at Valya and began to enchant another prisoner.

Valentina was sentenced to ten years. She spent time in a coal mine. The hardest part was in cold weather. We slept with a friend in an embrace, warming each other. Once Valya woke up because she was freezing more than usual. I tried to push my partner, she turned out to be dead …

At one of the morning constructions, a woman was ordered to be out of order. A paper was read in front of the line, it said that she had been pardoned. Valentina Sergeevna did not immediately understand that it was about her!

After all, she lived according to the camp principle – don’t believe, don’t be afraid, don’t ask. She did not complain about anything, did not write to anyone, never asked for anything. But she was released five years earlier than she was supposed to. So her truthful fortune-telling came true – the chip told the truth.
