Adversity helps us to live our lives more deeply and fully. Now this is a scientifically proven fact.
Adversity makes us stronger! And these are not just comforting words: for three years, 2500 participants in the experiment told American psychologists about their successes and problems *. It turned out that those who faced difficulties were more successful and satisfied with their fate than those whose life flowed serenely. “After experiencing negative experiences (natural disaster, trauma, apartment robbery …), women and men are better able to cope with subsequent adversity, find joy more easily and value friendships more,” explains Mark Seery, lead researcher. “However, the number of troubles is of fundamental importance: there should not be too many of them.” Developing this thought, it can be noted: those of us who are not inclined to perceive our life as a continuous nuisance win.
