Trilac – how does it work on the body?

Trilac is a drug whose main task is to protect the gastrointestinal tract against disorders caused by antibiotics. Its composition includes mainly lactic acid bacteria that lower the pH in the digestive tract, while preventing the multiplication of pathogenic microorganisms. Belong to them:

  1. Lactobacillus acidophilus – they multiply in the small intestine and in the large intestine. Thanks to them, it is possible to multiply other bacteria Bifidobacterium lactis, the number of which is declining especially in the elderly; 
  2. Lactobacillus delbrueckii – although they do not belong to the natural intestinal microflora, they have antibiotic properties, helping to rebuild the intestinal flora.

Trilac – composition

In addition to lactic acid bacteria, the composition of Trilac includes auxiliary substances:

  1. Skimmed milk powder,
  2. Yeast extract,
  3. Sodium glutamate,
  4. Sodu alginian, 
  5. Magnesium stearate, 
  6. Glucose anhydrous. 

However, in the Trilac casing there are titanium dioxide and gelatin.

Trilac – the main indications for use

The main indications for the use of Trilac are:

  1. Post-antibiotic enteritis, including pseudomembranous colitis, 
  2. Travelers’ diarrhea and its prevention, 
  3. Supportive treatment after taking antibiotics. 

Trilac – dosage method

Take Trilac exactly as prescribed by your doctor or the information provided on the medicine leaflet. The recommended dose is 1-2 tablets taken orally three times a day for a period of two weeks to one month. The tablets should be washed down with plenty of water.

Trilac – contraindications to the use of the drug

The main contraindication to the use of Trilac is hypersensitivity to any of the active or excipients of the drug. In addition, people who are allergic to cow’s milk protein must exercise caution when using Trilac. In addition, it can reduce the effect of antibiotics if it is given at the same time as other drugs.

Trilac – side effects of use

Like other medicines, side effects that have not been observed in clinical trials may occur with the use of Trilac. In addition, breastfeeding women can use the drug. However, studies on pregnant women have not been conducted.

Trilac – how to store the drug?

It is best to keep Trilac out of the reach of children. Keep the blister pack containing 20 tablets in the refrigerator. During the treatment, it can be stored at room temperature, just like an aluminum container with 30 or 90 tablets inside.
