The pancreas is an endocrine organ that produces insulin, glycogen, and digestive juice. Glycogen is the body’s energy reserve. It is consumed when needed (for example, during intense physical exertion).
Insulin plays a key role in carbohydrate metabolism by lowering the amount of glucose in the blood. Digestive juice is involved in the process of digestion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Failures in the production of enzymes and hormones by the pancreas, as well as pathological changes in the cells and tissues of the organ lead to the development of a number of diseases:
Acute and chronic pancreatitis;
Diabetes;
Oncology;
cysts;
cystic fibrosis;
Pancreatic necrosis.
The most common disease is chronic pancreatitis.
There are many medicinal plants that have a beneficial effect on the functional state of the pancreas and contribute to the improvement of its activity. Herbal medicine should be considered as an additional tool in complex drug therapy prescribed by a doctor and also combined with diet. Medicinal plants eliminate pain during exacerbation, relieve swelling and reduce the inflammatory process.
