The international name of the drug is Isoconazole nitras + Diflucortoloni valeras.

Travocort – composition and action of the cream

Travocort is a combined preparation consisting of two active substances. The first substance is a drug from the group of imidazole derivatives (isoconazole), and the second is a drug from the group of corticosteroids (diflucortolone).

The active substance isoconazole has an antifungal activity against many microorganisms such as yeasts, yeast-like fungi, dermatophytes, molds and pathogens responsible for the formation of erythematous dandruff. In addition, it has an antibacterial effect against gram-positive bacteria.

Moreover, isoconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Thanks to this active substance, the cell membrane is damaged and, consequently, causes the death of the fungal cells.

However, the second active ingredient of the cream, which is diflucortolone, works anti-inflammatory, anti-itching and soothing on irritated skin.

This preparation is intended for topical application to the skin. After its application, the substances are absorbed quite quickly, reaching the maximum concentration in the stratum corneum and dermis within an hour, and high concentration is maintained for at least 7 hours.

Active substances to a negligible extent, i.e. only 1%, are absorbed into the blood. 1 g of Travocort cream contains 10 mg of isoconazole nitrate and 1 mg of diflucortolone valerate.

In addition, the composition of the cream is supplemented with auxiliary substances such as: white petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan sterate, edetate disodium and purified water.
