Garlic for pancreatitis: recipes using garlic

Traditional medicine recipes for the pancreas

Garlic contains iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, beta-carotene and has numerous beneficial properties:

  • Strengthens the immune system and is an effective means of preventing and treating colds;

  • Improves eyesight;

  • Stimulates metabolism;

  • Improves the taste of dishes and increases appetite;

  • Contains a large amount of phytoncides that kill bacteria, protozoa and fungi or suppress their growth;

  • Promotes hematopoietic processes, accelerates blood flow, prevents the development of atherosclerosis, lowers blood pressure and generally normalizes the state of the cardiovascular system due to the content of allicin;

  • It is the best prophylactic agent for helminthic invasions.

Allicin, which gives fresh garlic a sharp and burning taste and is formed during the destruction of the garlic clove from alliin and the enzyme allicinase, is a rather toxic substance. In large quantities, it not only has the ability to destroy worms, microbes, bacteria, but also the ability to infect living healthy cells of the body. With excessive use of garlic, inhibition of intellectual activity is observed, attention is scattered, and a headache may occur. Garlic can also provoke epileptic seizures in patients with this disease – this is a proven fact.

During the period of acute pancreatitis and in the first years of the disease with chronic pancreatitis, eating garlic is strictly prohibited. The use of garlic is allowed with persistent remissions, but only after heat treatment. If you eat just one clove of raw garlic, then even with a stable remission, this leads to an exacerbation of pancreatitis in almost 100% of cases.

How to use garlic in this case? For example, when dressing a salad, you can pour it with well-heated sunflower oil: this will significantly improve the taste of the garlic itself and weaken its properties that are harmful to patients with pancreatitis. When preparing a salad of carrots, Beijing or seaweed, garlic is poured with boiling water. When determining the amount of garlic that can be eaten, a person should be guided by his own feelings and experience. After eating garlic, it is recommended to drink herbal teas.

For the above reasons, you should be especially careful with traditional medicine recipes using garlic, for example, these:

  • Grind in a meat grinder 300 grams of parsley, 300 grams of garlic and 1 kg of lemons, along with the peel, but removing the seeds. Place the resulting mass in an enamel pan and put for 2 weeks. into the refrigerator. Consume 1 teaspoon. spoon for 15 minutes. before meals up to three times a day. To enhance the action, you can prepare a special infusion and drink the resulting medicinal mixture with it: take the leaves of lingonberries, blueberries, strawberries, bean pods and corn stigmas in equal parts, grind thoroughly, place 1 table. a spoonful of the mixture in a thermos, pour a glass of boiling water in the evening and leave until the morning.
