PSYchology

Another book by Tove Jansson about the Moomins, written in 1952, was first published in Russian. The book is completely unexpected: the writer wrote it in verse and drew color illustrations for it, not in black and white, as for stories.

Another book by Tove Jansson about the Moomins, written in 1952, was first published in Russian. The book is completely unexpected: the writer wrote it in verse and drew color illustrations for it, not in black and white, as for stories. The poems were translated by Natalya Shakhovskaya, and the literary editor of the book is the children’s poet Marina Boroditskaya. But this is not just a story in verse, but a playbook: the reader, together with Moomintroll, helps Myumla look for her sister, baby Myu. Each page has a window through which, overcoming various obstacles, Moomintroll makes his way to the next page … and there, of course, new adventures await.
