In the last edition of Fitur, International Tourism Fair, held last week in Madrid, we saw how all destinations created an ecosystem of experiences where gastronomy played a leading role within the destinations that were promoted at the congress.

In the case of the Galician community, the seventeenth edition of the International Gastronomic Tourism Exhibition, Lunch, that highlights this collaborative journey of tourism and gastronomy and it seeks to satisfy the demand of the traveler, which has already been made clear that it is the union of both disciplines, not each one separately.
The show is organized by Expourense, and has the collaboration of the Ministry of Employment and Industry of the Xunta Gallega and the City Council of Ourense.<
From next February 3 to 7, the restaurant will occupy the Expourense site, to turn it into a space for experiences through different menus that the participating restaurants will develop.
An exaltation of the Galician raw material, from the sea and from the land that together with an excellent service and no less staging of the organization will make the venue the best exponent of culture, gastronomy and art in the culinary preparation of Northwest Spain.
Visitors, professionals and the general public, will be able to enjoy the cultural, gastronomic and historical attraction of the many geographical locations that come to the event from the entire peninsula, which in this edition are represented by Extremadura, Castilla León, Asturias, Cantabria, Andalusia and the Canary Islands of Spain together with the Azores and Madeira of Portugal.<
Among its tasks is that of develop a tasting menu, with the garnish of its tourist offer of local products or its traditional culture.
As usual. a foreign country is invited to participate in the Fair’s celebrations and on this occasion it is the turn Mexico, represented by the State of Morelos, relieving the previous promotions of France, Argentina, Costa Rica, etc …
A source of inspiration to celebrate Carnival
The rest of the activities are completed with a list of conferences, literary presentations, art exhibitions, educational workshops, tasting courses and tastings, etc …
As part of the content of the room is the celebration of the Gourmet Lunch Contest, that wants to become a food carnival, to celebrate the festivities that have so much tradition in the north of the peninsula, and its main objective is to spread the autochthonous gastronomy through the use of quality and gourmet products Made in Galicia , preparing traditional or innovative dishes.
Individuals may participate, or representatives of associations, schools, etc … whose only two premises are, being over 16 years of age and or as a group. Contestants must prepare a recipe with products from Galicia Quality.
In the final deliberation, the jury of the contest will assess the preparation and live montage while the contestants elaborate it, demonstrating skill, ingenuity and communication.
