Tourism and Gastronomy in Xantar
The second motivation that tourists choose to visit Galicia is gastronomy.
El Orense International Gastronomic Tourism Fair called Lunch, and returns one more year to the Expourense fairgrounds to continue spreading the excellence of Galician products and gastronomy.
During the days of February 1 to 5, we will be able to see all the news and actions that promote quality, unique and differentiated products from the different Denominations of Origin of Galicia and other demarcations.
Different government entities collaborate in the event, such as The Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE) Provincial Council of Orense and other business associations such as Provincial Federation of Entrepreneurs of the Hospitality Industry of Ourense, specifically the latter leads several professional actions, such as the cooking workshops live taught by renowned chefs community and countries invited to the gastronomic event.
This year the eighteenth edition of the gastronomic hall, and will have Panama as a guest country, a true set and amalgamation of colors and flavors of a culture with many Spanish roots.
The country’s gastronomy and agri-food products can be tasted in the own restaurant that has been set up inside the room, led by the Gastronomic Club of Panama.
Panama will also be part of the live demonstration or shoowcookings live, of product tastings and conferences in the 12th International Meeting on Sustainable and Healthy Gastronomy.
As in previous Xantar editions, support for tourism through gastronomy is once again one of the main pillars of the event.
A perfect platform for the agricultural, livestock and fishing products of the Galician community, as delicious as they are diverse and above all guaranteeing quality.
Much more than a food fair
Gastronomy, tourism and hospitality come together in a single forum to present and disseminate the content of the rich Galician gastronomy and at the same time give content to numerous events, meetings, competitions and awards. We highlight:
- The XII International Meeting of Gastronomic and Enóphilic Brotherhoods
- The delivery of the Platos de Oro awards.
- The delivery of Medals to the defenders of quality in gastronomy and hospitality.
- The celebration of the V Poster Contest of Gastronomic Festivals of Spain and Portugal
- The IV Gourmet Lunch Cooking Contest.
- The II Contest of the Healthiest Menu
Every year the show becomes a must for professionals in the sector (35% of total visitors) for whom a complete program of activities is organized.
