Historical information

The Torres family owned vineyards in Spain and was engaged in the production of small batches of wine in the middle of the XNUMXth century. The idea to create his own company came to the mind of a young enterprising entrepreneur Jaime Torres Vendrell. For nine years, the businessman earned start-up capital in Cuba, then returned to Spain and began to implement ambitious plans. Torres attracted his brother Miguel, a talented manager, to the leadership. Many years of joint work has borne fruit – Bodegas Torres wines have become known throughout Spain and even in St. Petersburg.

The production of brandy Torres, aged in oak barrels, began in 1928. During the Civil War, the winery went through difficult times – the destroyed buildings had to be rebuilt. In 1946, the company released the first bottle of the famous Torres 10.

Production features

The winery is located in Villafranca del Penedes, near Barcelona. The enterprise occupies a total area of more than 2000 hectares, 15% of the capacity is powered by solar panels. The factory building is surrounded by vineyards. The collection of raw materials is partly mechanized, but mostly carried out manually. The basis for the future of brandy are white wines. Distillation takes place in copper stills.

The production is based on the Solera method. Exposure takes place in barrels set in tiers. The oldest alcohol is in the bottom row, containers with distillate obtained immediately after distillation are placed on top of the pyramid.
