Basic rules can significantly improve the condition of the skin if you turn them into a habit. 1. Use of micellar water

Daily cleansing with micellar water without rinsing is often the cause of unpleasant skin rashes. Micellar water is a good ad-hoc remedy that is appropriate to take with you on a trip. But for constant care, it is not suitable, especially if you use it as the main means for cleansing the skin and do not rinse it off with water. The composition of the product usually contains surfactants (surfactants), which include soap and alcohol. Therefore, with constant prolonged contact with the skin of the face, a violation of the barrier function of the epidermis is possible. This, in turn, can lead to dryness, irritation and flaking. Therefore, the first rule is to rinse off the micellar water after use.

2. Using a towel

Rubbing your face with a towel after washing your face is one of the most common mistakes. Wet skin is very easy to injure, especially if after washing it, you do not gently blot it with a towel, but wipe it vigorously, not worrying about the strength of the effect.

Also, a towel is a source of bacteria: it collects dust in the bathroom, and it is unlikely that the owner changes it daily. Therefore, if the skin is prone to rashes, it is better to give up the towel altogether. A great alternative is paper towels or special napkins, with which you can gently blot your face and get rid of excess moisture.

3. Lack of tonics and lotions in the care

Neglecting the toning step after washing is another skin care mistake. For some reason, many believe that tonics and lotions are needed only to remove the remains of cleanser or makeup, and also that these products are just a marketing ploy, which is why they completely skip this stage of care. At the same time, toning is a very important element of a beauty ritual. Naturally, tonics and lotions additionally cleanse the skin, remove the remnants of cleansers, and, depending on the components, solve additional tasks: correct excessive fat content, moisturize, soothe, disinfect. But their main mission is to even out the pH and preserve the skin’s protective barrier. Therefore, a tonic after washing is always needed by everyone. 

4. Frequent use of scrubs

Scrub is a great way to put the skin in order, remove dead skin scales, and make it smooth. But you cannot use it every day, as this can lead to a violation of the pH and barrier function of the skin. The optimal frequency of application of the product is once a week. Otherwise, the result may be negative.

5. Avoiding moisturizing cream

Owners of oily skin often mistakenly refuse to use a moisturizer, while it is necessary in caring for this type of skin. The forehead and cheeks constantly shine from an oily sheen, and it seems that there is no need for moisturizing? This is the main mistake. The thing is that oily skin often really needs this stage, since it is its absence that can cause oily sheen. When the skin is dehydrated, it literally starts producing lubrication to compensate for the lack of water. Another question is that for oily skin it is important to choose the right moisturizer – it should be non-comedogenic, as well as light, non-greasy in texture.

Compliance with these simple rules can significantly improve the condition of the skin and simplify its care, and if you also pay due attention to proper nutrition and care for the health of the body as a whole, then you will shine and radiate beauty.
