All dishwashers are conditionally divided into price categories. The most expensive and prestigious models are classified as elite equipment. Find out which brands offer premium dishwashers and whether they are worth the money spent.
How do expensive dishwashers differ from ordinary ones?
It is clear that high cost is not the only difference between dishwashers (PMM) and prestigious brands. Expensive equipment has other features:
- The quality of parts and materials. In the manufacture of the highest quality materials and components are used. For example, high-quality expensive heating elements – they heat water faster than usual. Instead of plastic in expensive cars – metal (we are talking about the tank and some body elements).
- Water consumption. Water resources are used economically, but not to the detriment of the quality of washing. The average consumption is 10-15 liters.
- Electricity consumption. It cannot be said that cool equipment consumes electricity especially economically, but no one requires this from them, it is enough that all elite PMMs have an energy consumption class of at least A.
- Noise. Expensive cars make much less noise than their middle-class counterparts or budget versions. The noise level usually does not exceed 40 dB. In inexpensive PMM, it can be 49-53 dB.
In expensive dishwashers, the functionality is not limited to basic options and modes. They always have additional functions, which in everyday life are called “bells and whistles”.
Additional functions
In elite PMM, such additional functions are especially common:
- laser projection. Such a function is called “beam on the floor”. In front of the machine – right on the floor surface, information about the washing progress is projected – a dot that changes color or disappears at the end of the program, or numbers counting down the time until the end of the cycle.
- Drying by active condensation. In many expensive models, recirculation drying is used, after which the heat exchanger is cooled with cold air – it is supplied by a fan. Such drying is more efficient than conventional drying and consumes less energy.
- Soak. Improves the quality of washing, complex contaminants are completely removed.
- Half load. Almost all large PMMs have such a function today, and most elite devices also have it. By choosing this mode, the user uses only one compartment – water and electricity are saved.
- LCD display. Shows information about selected programmes, temperature, remaining time, etc.
- Touch control. Aesthetically pleasing, easy to use. Eliminates false clicks and triggers.
- Remote control. Can be controlled via the Internet or NFC from a smartphone.
- Ozonation. This feature is rare. Ozone is a gas that treats dishes and kills bacteria.
But the design of expensive models is discreet. Usually these cars look modest, but a specialist will immediately notice the quality and class of equipment. Typically, the case of such PMM is made of stainless steel, painted in white, silver or black – such options allow you to fit the machine into any modern interior.
Overview of models and consumer reviews
The club of elite equipment manufacturers is very small, and its ranks are tightly closed – it is not easy for third-party brands to break into it. Due to the high cost of expensive equipment, the number of potential buyers is extremely limited. The constant leaders in the ranking of manufacturers of prestigious PMM are Miele, ASKO, AEG, SMEG.
