How De’Longhi Fault Codes Are Deciphered
A failure in the operation of the PMM can happen both due to a banal clogging of the filter, and due to the failure of the control module. To understand how to fix a breakdown, you need to have complete information about the problem that has arisen. First, let’s find out what the alphanumeric combination on the display means.
Consider the values of error codes that are available to the user without a service test:
- E1 – means that the filling valve draws water longer than the time set for this time. Possible reasons: insufficient pressure in the plumbing system, problems with the valve itself, the dishwasher door is not closed properly. All this is easily eliminated without outside help.
If water is poorly collected due to a breakdown of the control module or pressure switch, then you need to contact the service center.
- E4 – an error indicates a water leak. In this case, the AquaStop anti-leakage system is activated, the wash is completed and the drain pump starts. It is necessary to check all the functional units of the device from which water can flow for defects: hoses, door cuff, internal pipes, the chamber itself. If the problem lies in the pressure switch or drain pump, then the part will have to be changed.
- E8 – a failure in the water supply due to improper operation of the filling valve, which will need to be changed. Also, the cause of the malfunction may be in the wrong connection of the drain hose. If the triac closes on the control board, which is responsible for the operation of the valve, it is necessary to call the wizard for further testing and repair.
- E9 – sticky buttons, blocking sensors on the control panel. The cause may be clogged buttons. To fix the problem, just clean the panel from dirt.
If the error appears on the display for the first time, you must first eliminate the failure in the control system. This will require a reboot of the device.
How to restart PMM:
- disconnect the device from the mains;
- wait 15 minutes;
- turn on PMM again.
If the reboot did not bring results, then you need to start repairing the dishwasher.
Causes of breakdowns of the De’Longhi dishwasher
Other malfunctions also indicate the incorrect operation of the machine. Most often, owners of Delongi dishwashers face such problems:
- The machine does not turn on. The first thing to do is to check the pressure in the water pipe, the presence of voltage in the network, and whether the device door is tightly closed.
- Water remains in the chamber. It is necessary to check the connection of the drain hose, as well as the drain filter and pump for possible clogging.
- Dishes don’t wash well. Possible causes: incorrect loading, insufficient detergent, wrong washing program.
- Dishes do not dry out. The problem is most likely in insufficient rinsing or an incorrectly selected washing mode.
- Detergent remains in the dispenser container. Most likely, the dishes are loaded incorrectly, so it covers the dispenser and does not allow the water to wash out all the powder.

Repair of malfunctions of the Delongi dishwasher
An owner who knows the design of the dishwasher and how its mechanisms work can fix most breakdowns on their own.
If the warranty period of the equipment is still valid, it is better to contact the service center. In the event of a poorly performed repair, a subsequent repair under warranty will not be possible.

Before starting any repair work, the equipment must be disconnected from the power supply and water supply.
Problems of the fill and drain system
Owners often face this situation. Why is this happening? Most often, the problem must be sought in the blockage of the inlet water supply hose, more precisely, the filter mesh.
How to troubleshoot:
- prepare a small container or cloth (liquid may flow from the pipe);
- disconnect the hose from the device;
- take out the filling filter with pliers, which is located behind the tube;
- thoroughly rinse the mesh and clean the hose of existing debris.
Make sure the filling valve itself is working. If its coils are burned out, the part needs to be replaced.
The drain tract becomes clogged even more often. Rare cleaning of pipes, food residues on dishes that are poorly removed before loading into the chamber, adversely affect the operation of the drain system. In the future, this threatens to break the pump itself.
If the machine does not work due to a clogged drain, proceed as follows:
- open the chamber and remove the trays from it;
- unscrew the filter at the bottom of the hopper;
- clean it and the mesh from debris;
- remove the protective cover and clean the pump impeller from dirt;
- assemble the knot in reverse order.
If the drainage pump fails, it will have to be dismantled and a new spare part installed.

Poor wash quality
The unsatisfactory result of washing in the machine most often occurs due to a violation of the rules for operating the unit. The following points should be excluded:
- Incorrect loading of dishes. Large plates can block the powder dispenser or nozzle arms, making it difficult to wash off dirt. Solution to the problem: reinstalling the dishes in the chamber.
- Incorrect selection of the washing program. If an insufficiently powerful program is set, grease and dried dirt may remain. Therefore, for heavily soiled dishes, choose modes with longer work cycles.
- Not enough detergent is being used. Increase the amount of powder and rinse aid. Perhaps you use it less than expected, and the dishes are not washed well.
- Injector rocker blocking. Not only a plate can block their rotation, but also incorrect installation or clogging of the filters at the base of the detergent compartment. In this case, they will need to be reinstalled or cleaned. If the nozzles themselves are clogged, their holes must also be cleaned.

Regularly clean the PMM units, which can accumulate debris. This will save your equipment from serious damage.
If the problem of poor washing could not be solved, it is necessary to check the operation of the circulation pump or heating element. If they fail, new parts will need to be installed. It is not advisable to repair such breakdowns with your own hands. It is better if a specialist does it.
Water leak
Wear of seals, damage to hoses or the dishwasher body will definitely make themselves felt by leakage. This situation requires active action, since high humidity contributes to corrosion and failure of the control module. Therefore, you need to carefully examine all the details and find the place of the leak. How to proceed:
- Check the inlet and drain hoses. If there is damage, replace them. Also check their fastenings, perhaps the clamps need to be tightened more tightly.
- Check the door seal for tightness. If it is worn out, replace it.
- Inspect the drain pump seal. If worn, install a new part.

Dishwasher won’t turn on
If the equipment stops in the middle of the cycle or does not turn on at all, it is necessary to check the voltage in the network, as well as inspect the cable itself and the plug for possible damage. You can try to restart the device (how to do this, we wrote at the beginning of the article). If the machine does not work, most likely the electronic module has failed. It is subject to repair or it will need to be replaced, the master will tell only after its diagnosis.
You can fix some malfunctions of the De’Longhi PMM yourself. But you should not rely on your own strength in all cases, since such amateur performance can further harm your technique.
