TOP 10 rock stars who have chosen a vegetarian lifestyle

A well-known British Internet resource dedicated to a healthy lifestyle, animal rights and human obligations in relation to nature has compiled a rating of 10 Vegetarian Stars in the UK. In fact, there are many more than ten of them – but these people are the most famous, their opinion is really listened to all over the world. 

Paul McCartney 

Sir Paul McCartney is perhaps the most famous vegetarian of our time. He often joins campaigns for the protection of animals and the environment around the world. For more than 20 years, The Beatles’ lead singer hasn’t touched bacon because he sees a live pig behind it.

   

Thom Yorke 

“When I ate meat, I felt sick. Then I started dating a girl and wanted to impress her, so I pretended to be a veteran vegetarian. At first, like many others, I thought that the body would not receive the necessary substances, that I would get sick. In fact, everything turned out to be quite the opposite: I felt better, I stopped feeling sick. George Harrison 

During the filming of the film “Help!” In the Bahamas, a Hindu gave each of the Beatles a copy of a book about Hinduism and reincarnation. Harrison’s interest in Indian culture expanded and he embraced Hinduism. Between the last tour of the Beatles in 1966 and the beginning of the recording of the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” Harrison and his wife made a pilgrimage to India. There he took up the study of the sitar, met with a number of gurus and visited the holy places of Hinduism. In 1968, Harrison, along with other Beatles, spent several months in Rishikesh studying Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. That same year, Harrison became a vegetarian and remained so for the rest of his life.

   

Alanis Morissette 

As a teenager, Morissette struggled with anorexia and bulimia, blaming pressure from producers and managers. Once she was told: “I would like to talk about your weight. You won’t be successful if you’re fat.” She ate carrots, black coffee and toast, and her weight ranged from 45 to 49 kg. She called the treatment a long process. She became a vegetarian only recently, in 2009.

The musician, leader, vocalist and guitarist of Pearl Jam is known not only as a vegetarian, but also as an ardent animal advocate.
