DC is a well-known publisher specializing in comics about people with superpowers. It was founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, who also founded National Allied Publications. For the entire history of the existence of DC, their main competitor is Marvel Comics. Despite this, in 1975 the publishing houses began to cooperate closely. And, it is worth noting, together they have come a long way!
DC Comics is filled with characters that amaze with their abilities and extraordinary strength! They are all god level, which makes them quite dangerous. Not all of them can be defined in any group – “good”, “evil”, there are neutral characters or those in which different sides fight: light, darkness. In short, their mission is to annoy Superman!
Let’s take a look at DC characters with fantastic powers! You can envy them, you can be afraid of them, but what you can’t do is treat them with indifference.
10 Wonder Woman
Princess Diana (aka Wonder Woman) bright in appearance and strong in abilities. She is an Amazon and one of the first superheroes to have the title of Wonder Woman. What makes her so strong?
Diana appeared in the family of the Queen of the Amazons – Hippolyta. The Greek gods endowed her with great powers with which she can go on any feats: they gave her the heart of a hunter, a loving heart (and this is very strong!), Speed, the ability to fly, and others.
Diana remained on the island for a long time, where she developed her strength to become a real warrior. Often confronted with the injustices of the gods, she developed a sense of empathy and a fight for justice.
9. Green torch
The character himself Green torch still remains a mystery to many. The Green Lantern has been known for a long time – it appeared already in 1940 in comics. Later, his popularity began to wane, but when Geoff Johns came along, he brought the character back to life!
Hal Jordan was the test pilot. One day, he encountered the dying alien Abin. He told Hal that he was a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an interplanetary police force. Since he cannot continue his mission, he chose Hal as his replacement – for his courage and willpower. The alien gave him a ring and an energy battery to recharge.
8. Batman
Even people who are not fans of science fiction and comics know who Batman is – very often news flashes about him on the Internet. Often filmed comics. Viewers still can not understand who is Batman: villain or hero?
Batman is the fearless protector of Gotham, his real name is Bruce Wayne. One of his silhouette frightens all criminals, and he gives peace to civilians. But Batman, like everyone else, has another side of his personality – the so-called alter ego. The character does not have superpowers, however, is the most dangerous person on the planet. His strength is in a brilliant mind, helping to understand alien technology. In addition, he has powers: physical and moral.
7. Flash
Real name Flash – Bartholomew Henry Allen. His mother was killed when he was still a child, and his father was suspected of this. He is confident in the innocence of his father – this gave rise to a thirst for justice in him.
From an early age, the boy was fascinated by chemistry, which helped him develop his farming skills. He was able to graduate in 3 years with degrees in chemistry and criminal science. When one day he was able to detain a criminal, he was offered to become a policeman. Eager to help others, he accepted the offer.
The background of his formation is large (you need to read the biography), let’s dwell on the strengths of the character: he is the fastest person on Earth, protecting Central City and Keystone City. Using force, he fights evil.
6. Dr. Manhattan
Dr. Manhattan, like many superheroes, got his powers after an accident. Splitting into atoms, he soon gathered himself again, returning each to its place, and then returned, having received god-like powers.
Dr. Manhattan is strong and dangerous in that he is able to change the structure of reality in a way that suits him. He can both accelerate evolution and destroy the Universe with a light wave of his hand. He is not affected by the laws of the material world, and he can also move in time (however, his perception of time is rather limited). Doctor Manhattan is a being with great powers and knowledge.
5. Aquamen
Not so long ago, the film Aquaman appeared on the screens, in which brilliant actors played: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and others.
The king of the oceans first emerged from the abyss in 1941, appearing in the pages of More Fun Comics #73. Then Aquamen (real name Arthur Curry) was an earthly man, but with superpowers. Its power lies in fantastic strength and speed, the ability to breathe underwater, and control marine life. First, he can suppress the will of one of the monsters, and then call on an army from the underwater kingdom to help get closer to Cthulhu.
4. Superman
For some reason Superman considered a boring superhero, but what cannot be denied is his strength. He is so strong that it is difficult to imagine what could threaten him. However, he also has vulnerabilities: he can be beaten with magic, kryptonite, red sun radiation, etc.
For the first time, they learned about the character in 1938 – then he appeared in Action Comics. The character, as we already understand, is on the side of good, there are no deeds that do not deserve his attention. It’s touching how one of DC’s most powerful characters can’t even get past a kitten stuck in a tree.
You can talk about Superman’s strengths for a long time, and his superpowers add more potential to tell interesting stories about him.
3. Swamp Thing
For the first time since Swamp Thing met in 1971 when she was featured in comics. Initially, her story was extremely simple. Scientist Alex Olsen, having fallen under the influence of chemicals, became a swamp monster, found his killer and killed him. Fans of comics liked the character so much that it was decided to leave him.
The swamp creature has a number of enviable abilities: it has increased strength, the ability to control plants, regeneration (up to the point that it can grow a new body for itself).
It is worth noting that the popularity of the superhero skyrocketed with the appearance of Alan Moore, and the comic book series began to actively promote when the character found love in the form of a blonde girl.
2. Cyborg
Initially about Cyborg little was known from the comics, and he was at first a member of the Teen Titans. In 2011, everything changed – the character created the Justice League, respectively, became the main guy.
Victor Stone is the only child of two scientists determined to use their research to improve humanity. Cyborg’s main calling is to help those in need. His abilities are impressive, Cyborg is a real computer. However, he has one weakness … He constantly needs to recharge. Most importantly, Cyborg is immortal, because he is a machine.
1. Martian hunter
Often Martian Manhunter can be seen in print publications – in addition to them, he appears in films and TV shows, but has little effect on the plot. The Martian is one of the first members of the first Justice League to land on Earth as a result of Erdel’s experiments.
In terms of superpowers, Jonn Jonzz can fly, has telepathy, the ability to walk through walls, and become invisible. At will, the character can reincarnate, taking the form of any creature. Among other things, he can restore his body even if it is torn to pieces.
