10 Stadium
Opening date: 30 September 1973 of
Stadium – a station belonging to the red line. The authors of this station, as you can see in the picture, like to base their work on various forms, bright colors and combinations.
In the middle of the station, on the surface of the grotto, a rainbow is painted, all the vaults of the station are painted blue. It was chosen for a reason, blue carries a meaning. Blue is primarily the color of the sky. Despite the fact that we are below ground, it costs quite a bit to rise to see the clear sky above us, and, perhaps, the miracle of nature – a rainbow. Stadion is located near the Olympic Stadium.
9. The water lily
Opening date: 31 1975 of August
In translation The water lily means “water lily“. The station is on the blue line. A beautiful exposition immediately catches your eye, located right in the middle of the platform. The artist depicted water lilies, stones, glazed bricks, and, of course, a lake on it.
On the floor you can read a variety of quotes: Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Harry Martinson, Arthur Lundqvist, etc., so if someone likes to think, you should definitely look under your feet!

8. Rissne
Opening date: 19 1985 of August
Rissne located on the blue line. There are not many supporting structures for the walls here, so it creates a feeling of expanded space. The station is light and pleasant, the metro platform consists of a history textbook, so everyone has the opportunity to feel into history and learn about what has already been forgotten.
The station is decorated with handwritten inscriptions with historical events that start from 3000 BC to the present. On the historical tape you can learn about the events that influenced our world. The text was written in different colors, which is interesting – each of them carries a meaning. Blue, for example, stands for knowledge, and pink stands for culture.
7. Radhuset
Opening date: 31 1975 of August
Photographs with the station Radhuset can be seen in the collections of almost all travelers who have been to Stockholm. Color played a big role for the artist, the station is made in powdery pink colors, which can be seen in the bowels of the Atlas Mountains in Africa.
The main idea was that a person who looked at the station could find various traces of what happened here during the entire existence of the city on the platform.
For example, to the right of the escalator is a broken brick wall. Previously, there were rooms where tanning was carried out (until 1905).
The station is decorated in the style of pop art, you can see baskets and firewood in the walls here, and the boots that hang right from the ceiling act as artistic elements!
6. Oden plane
Opening date: 26th of October 1952
Station Oden plane located on the green line of the metro system. Travelers are delighted after staying in this station! After all, she is a work of art. The floor was created from a cement mosaic that includes shades of green.
There are two glass mosaics on the walls. The paintings were originally shot on a camera, and then they were processed and transferred to glass.
Mari Rantanen named her work “Now Odin”(Odin is the supreme god in Scandinavian mythology). The artist painted here the ceiling, walls and floor. A very interesting idea is to cover the prints on the walls with glass.
5. The raspberry mountains

Station decoration The raspberry mountains, located on the blue line, represents metal sculptures, as well as images in the form of children’s drawings.
Hallonbergen translates as “crimson mountainwhich reminds us of games, words and fantasies. In order for travelers to enjoy the view, the artists have collected many children’s drawings. Then, they were transferred, drawing with brushes, to the light walls of the station.
Here you can see not only children’s creativity, consisting of drawings, but also a variety of inscriptions, the highlight of which is errors.
4. T-Central
Opening date: 31 1975 of August
T-Central located on the blue line, located under the department store and Åhléns, as well as under the Centralposten post office.
The vaults of the carved station in the rock are not finished and their shape is far from ideal. The walls and arches were painted blue. Petr Olov decided that deep blue was the best color for the station. People can come here and relax after the bustle of the city.
In each arch are different drawings. Most often, when specifying the name of the station in the search engine, you can see photographs of the walls, which are painted with stylized images of twigs with leaves, as well as silhouettes of builders.
3. Institute of Technology
Opening date: 30 September 1973 of
Interesting station, decorated with art objects. Its design is dedicated to scientific discoveries and the laws of nature.
Station Institute of Technology belongs to route T14 of the red line. The theme of the station does not leave indifferent those who are used to thinking and love philosophy. Her theme is 4 Platonic elements (+5 – ether), science. For each, a certain sculpture was built in the form of various polyhedrons. There is also a musical literacy, and a Newtonian apple, and a solar system.
By the way, the theme of Tekniska Högskolan was chosen for a reason – the station is located near the Royal Institute of Technology.
2. Tensta
Opening date: 31 1975 of August
Tensta has a cave-type hall, it is painted with poems, mixed with drawings in the form of animals, inscriptions in various languages. Very touching and lovely station. Funny animals also act as sculptural compositions here.
Tensta is located on the blue line. Helga Henschen worked on its design for almost a year, with the help of her brother in this creative work. They painted all the walls with light paint, after which they painted them with brushes.
Here you can see a sculpture – a wonderful family of penguins, and on the platform of the northern type there are signs with the word “Solidarity» in 18 languages.
1. Royal garden
Opening date: 30th of October 1977
Situated Royal garden in the blue thread. Kungsträdgården station is a real ecological miracle. It is not only impressive for its appearance, but also the deepest of all – the researchers found that the station is home to an independent ecosystem.
Visually, the station cannot be compared with others in terms of the presence of bright contrasts: there are works of art on the walls, the ceilings are decorated with mosaics, the walls are covered with relics of old houses that were demolished when central Stockholm was reconstructed. The reconstruction included carved columns, fountains, intricate statues and much more.
