A popular Russian children’s TV channel and the author of fairy tales, on which a whole generation grew up, have much in common. In addition to the upbringing and education in children of a sense of beauty, the channel is called a fairy-tale character. And the fairy tale, from which we learned about the existence of Bibigon, a boy who fell to earth from the moon, was written by Korney Chukovsky.
According to legend, Bibigon lives at the writer’s house and is not afraid of anything except the villain, who is an evil and terrible turkey named Brundulyak.
9. Started broadcasting in 2007
The channel’s birthday is August 20, 2007when a trial run started at one of the satellite TV operators. Less than two weeks later, the regular work of Bibigon began, which gave joy to children twenty hours a day.
In addition to broadcasting on its own channel, there was also work in the form of a separate airtime on other TV channels. The first such experience took place on the Sport channel. Later, the baton was intercepted by “Russia” and the television and radio channel “Culture”.

7. Laureate of the “Runet Prize” contest

4. Transfer “Why”
Russian series “Why” Designed for teaching children aged 7 to 12 years. Curious topics are raised in the program and the characters give a clear and detailed answer that even preschoolers can understand. For example, “Why does the sun shine? Why don’t ships sink?
The main characters of the animated series are Sergey and Lena. They have a computer in which Bit and Byte live. They perform the tasks of the wise Processor. In the third and fourth season, new characters appeared and the old ones changed a little.
The versions on the channel “Bibigon” and “Carousel” differ slightly in heroes. They have a different appearance: hair color, clothes and hands of the Processor. The first two seasons introduce children to natural science, the subsequent ones talk about computer science, and in the last seasons the characters talk about astronomy.
3. Transfer “Steps”
This TV game was intended for children and adolescents. “Steps” aired from the very foundation of the channel. In 2007, the program began to be dubbed on the Russia 1 channel.
The rules were simple and interesting. At the first stage, you need to answer the question with a peculiar number. Who does not guess, loses one life. Lives are represented as elephants and when two elephants leave, the player is out.
Only the two remaining players play in the second stage. The final participant starts climbing the steps of knowledge, each step contains an expensive gift, and the participant only needs to answer questions.
2. Transfer “Good night, kids!”
Transfer “Good night, kids!” first appeared on the screen on September 1, 1964. A year before this event, the writers were actively writing the text and selecting the scenery. The editor-in-chief came up with the idea for the show after watching a Sandman cartoon.
The name caused the most controversy. There were a lot of options: “Evening Tale”, “Good Night”, “Bedtime Story”, “Visiting the Magic Man Tick-Tock”. And only a day before the release of the first series, the name was finally found, which was fixed on a permanent basis.
1. The channel stopped broadcasting in 2010
On December 27, 2010, the Bibigon channel stopped broadcasting. The last show that aired was a BBC program about penguins. It ended at 00:55, after which the standard channel screensaver appeared, then the Kremlin clock and then the color bar generator.
Shortly before the end, several programs about animals and “Good night, kids!” were shown. At the same time, another channel, Telenanny, finished broadcasting. These two projects have been merged into one channel “Carousel”.
