10 Langfossen, 612 m

It is worth noting that Mardalsfossen was even depicted on the coat of arms of Nesset. In 1975, it was decided to build a hydroelectric power station, which takes the bulk of the water. During this time, the waterfall practically does not function.
But during a visit by tourists, the water pressure is a little removed. The stream returns to its usual course. This happens between June 20 and August 20.

4. Utigord, 818 m

Waterfall Utigord looks like a cascade. In general, it feeds only on the melt waters of the largest glacier in all of Europe. Initially, water is distributed through small streams, which then merge into one large stream. Width about 23 meters.
A whole ceiling of water approaches the rocks, and then descends down from a height of 818 meters. During the descent, the water hits three more ledges. In this case, the area is stretched by a certain amount. According to approximate calculations – 600 meters. When it gets down, everything flows into a small lake Lovatnet.
A very interesting story is also connected with this place, but rather tragic. Previously, people lived on one of the nearby shores. One day there was a landslide. A huge chunk came off the rock. He fell right into the lake, causing a real tsunami.
Unfortunately, such a huge wave washed away the entire population. There was not the slightest sign of life left in this place. Around the 30s, history repeated itself again. The details of this terrible event are almost the same. The height of such waves was about 70 meters. That is why it is not at all surprising that she destroyed everything in her path. But after a long time, people began to understand that it is better not to settle on the banks. They learned this hard lesson for a long time.

3. Strupenfossen, 820 m

It is worth noting that the Breheimen ridge passes here. The glacier called Myklebustbreen is fed only by the waters of the stream, which was discussed above. There are different opinions about its height. Some measure and say that the height reaches about 820 meters, while others say with confidence, 480.
There are seven cascades on this waterfall, and the largest one has a descent of about 250 meters. It has to do with the time of year. When the glacier descends in winter, the height increases markedly. In summer, it decreases significantly.
