9. Another Bovary | 2014
A man named Martin, already at a respectable age, returns to his homeland – to Normandy, where he suddenly finds himself in a whirlpool of passion, which he no longer hoped to experience in his years.
His new neighbor literally stepped out of the pages of Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary, and even her name is almost the same – Gemma Boveri (played by Gemma Arterton).

This picture is about the tragic consequences of the relationship between a man and a woman who stay together despite the risk.
Steven (Jeremy Irons) is a successful politician, happy husband and father. His life changes dramatically when he meets his son’s beloved Anna, whom he himself falls in love with.
A young girl reciprocates and a stormy romance breaks out between them, the publication of which threatens to destroy Stephen’s career, family and life, but he is ready for anything in order to be with his beloved.

7. Diary of memory | 2004
A classic love story between a poor boy and a girl and a rich aristocratic family, told through the prism of time. An incredibly kind and bright story gives hope for a miracle, although it is obvious that in life such a development of events is hardly possible.
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling perfectly played a couple in love, whose feelings are not able to stop neither time, nor war, nor harsh parental rules.
It is worth paying tribute to the original novel, which became a bestseller within a week after the start of sales.
6. Deep blue sea | 2011
Events unfold after the end of World War II. The main character, played by Rachel Weisz, is the happy wife of a successful judge who enjoys wealth and position in society.
Everything changes when she accidentally meets a former pilot (his image was embodied by Tom Hiddleston). Suddenly flared feelings force her to destroy her marriage and her seemingly perfect life, starting to build everything anew, with another man and in a different environment.
In the Russian translation, the meaning was lost: the original name of The Deep Blue Sea is a reference to the expression “Between the devil and the deep blue sea”, that is, it speaks of the need to make an unpleasant, but obligatory choice between two things.

The melodrama of Joe Wright in 2007 became a real hit, collecting 7 Oscar nominations (a statuette was given only for music), 14 BAFTAs and 5 Golden Globes.
James McAvoy and Keira Knightley play a loving couple who are separated by the heroine’s sister. She sets up the guy, accusing him of violence against another girl, for which he first goes to prison, and then to the front.
Since childhood, being a writer, the lover only shortly before her death decides to repent and publishes a new novel, on the pages of which she reunites the lovers and gives them a completely different life.

Another love story against the background of the war, this time in Chinese flavor. Young and full of love for her homeland, Jiazhi pretends to be the wife of a businessman in order to ingratiate herself with Mr. Yi, who is the embodiment of the evil of the Japanese occupation.
However, over time, the girl realizes that she has fallen in love with her enemy, so it becomes difficult for her to lure him into a trap, where death awaits at the hands of her accomplices.
Loving your enemy, who is not worthy of this love, is a difficult test, the passage of which requires tremendous inner strength.

The brilliant Geoffrey Rush plays an elderly collector and auctioneer who is rich but lonely. Having a lot of money and “cockroaches in his head”, he no longer hopes to meet a life partner, when a mysterious young girl suddenly appears, literally enchanting the main character.
For her sake, he is ready to do things that he would never have agreed to before, he is ready to change and “break” himself, but as a result, he will be broken by the truth about who the mysterious lady really is.

James Cameron’s cult film was not in vain the first film in history to break the mark of 1 billion at the box office. The tragic love story of Rose and Jack is a real classic of the genre.
