Spanish directors very often become laureates of various prestigious film awards, and their films become very popular and recognized by viewers all over the world.

10 Talk to her (2002)
The story of Talk to Her (2002) unfolds in flashback, showing the details of two separate relationships that intertwine with each other.
During a performance of Cafe Müller, a dance piece by Pina Bausch, Benigno Martin and Marco Zuluaga cross paths, but the two are nothing more than strangers. Yet Benigno notices that Marco is crying. Marco is a journalist and travel writer who happened to see a TV interview with Lydia Gonzalez, a famous matador. He thinks an article about her would be interesting, and at his editor’s direction, he contacts her at a bar, where she asks him to take her to his house. 7. Body (2012)
Inspector Jaime Peña investigates an accident that put Angel Torres’ night watchman in a coma. Security footage shows Angel running from his job at the morgue before being hit by a car. Peña was informed that the body of a woman, Mikey Villaverde, had disappeared from the morgue. Maika is a wealthy middle-aged business woman who was married to a young man and apparently suffered a heart attack after a business trip. Her widower, Alex Ulloa, hears the shocking news while he is with his young mistress, Carla Miller. Alex assures Carla that Maika is dead.
Peña is convinced that someone stole the body to avoid an autopsy and is suspicious of Alex, who Peña thinks talks about his wife too lightly in the past tense…
6. Klaus (2019)
Jesper Johansson is the lazy and spoiled son of a wealthy postmaster who enrolled Jesper in his mail carrier training academy hoping it would reform him. Jesper deliberately downplays his abilities, forcing his father to eventually send him to the remote island town of Smeerensburg on a mission to send six thousand letters within a year. If Jesper fails, he will be cut off from the family estate. Upon arrival, the caustic Ferryman Mogens and the embittered teacher-turned-fishmonger Alva explain to Jesper that the city’s eternally feuding families of Ellingboy and Cruma make up almost the entire population and barely exchange words, let alone letters.
Desperate to find a way to send letters from the city, Jesper notices on a map in his office that there is an isolated dwelling at the far end of the island. While exploring, he discovers a reclusive forester named Klaus with a house filled with handmade toys. Frightened by the man’s imposing appearance, Jesper runs away, inadvertently leaving behind a sad drawing he had found earlier, made by one of Smirensburg’s children. Klaus forces Jesper to take him to the boy’s house in the picture, and then forces Jesper to secretly deliver the toy to the boy…

In 2006, Paul Conroy, an American civilian working in Iraq, wakes up to find himself buried in a wooden coffin with a Zippo lighter and a BlackBerry phone at hand. He begins to piece together what happened to him. He remembers that he and several others were ambushed by terrorists. He was hit by a stone and he lost consciousness. He receives a call from his kidnapper, Jabir, demanding that he pay a $5 million ransom by 9 p.m. or be left in a coffin to die.
Conroy calls the State Department, who informs him that due to the government’s policy of not negotiating with terrorists, it will not pay the ransom but will try to rescue him. They connect him with Dan Brenner, the head of the hostage task force, who tells Conroy that they are doing everything they can to find him…

Maria Bennett, her husband Henry Bennett and their three sons Lucas, Thomas and Simon are heading to Khao Lak, Thailand for the Christmas holidays. Arriving on Christmas Eve, they settle in and begin enjoying the brand new Orchid Beach Resort. Two days later, on Boxing Day, the massive tsunami of 2004 floods the area.
Maria and Lucas eventually emerge from the churning water and find each other, with Maria suffering serious leg and chest injuries. They help baby Daniel get out of the rubble and are soon found by the locals, who transfer them to a local hospital in the city of Takua pa. Daniel is separated from them during the journey. At the hospital, Maria encourages Lucas to help others find their family members while she goes in for surgery for her chest injuries…
3. Invisible Guest (2016)
Spanish businessman Adrian Doria has been released on bail after being arrested for the murder of his mistress Laura Vidal. His lawyer, Felix Leyva, hires a prestigious attorney, Virginia Goodman, who comes to him early in the morning with the news that the prosecutor has found a witness who will soon testify before the judge, so he must quickly tell the whole story.
Adrian tells Virginia how he and Laura ended their romance a few months ago only to receive a call in which a blackmailer ordered him to come to a rural hotel with €100,000. At the hotel, Adrian passed out and woke up to find Laura dead in the bathroom. Arriving at the scene of the crime, the police found the door of the room locked from the inside with a chain, breaking in. The windows are locked, leaving Adrian as the only suspect. After his arrest, his wife leaves him and takes their little daughter. Virginia insists that Adrian isn’t telling her the whole truth…
