Pink Hit Tomato is a high-yielding variety with large pink fruits from a Turkish manufacturer. Since 2021, its seeds have been supplied to Our Country under the official name Eray F1. The hybrid has many advantages, including taste characteristics, yield and good immunity to a number of diseases.
History of breeding
The pink tomato Pink Hit F1 is a product of the Turkish company Yuksel Seeds. It has been in existence for over 20 years and specializes in the research and production of hybrid vegetable seeds.
As of 2021, Pink Hit will be imported as Eray F1. Under this name, the variety is officially registered in Our Country. Testing of the Eray F1 hybrid began at the end of 2011, and in 2012 it was included in the State Register of the Federation. The originator is Yuksel Tohum.
Description of the Pink Hit F1 tomato variety
Pink Hit tomato is an indeterminate variety. This means that the growth of the bush is not limited and continues as long as the place and weather allow it.
The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in glass or film greenhouses. In the southern regions in the summer it can also be cultivated in open ground. The Pink Hit tomato looks like this:
- tall bushes;
- powerful, well-developed root system;
- the leaves are small, the color is dark green;
- short internodes;
- fruits are large, dense, rounded;
- pronounced shoulders;
- weak ribbing;
- slight flattening at the stem;
- average weight 220-250 g;
- the color of the tomatoes is bright pink;
- on the brush 4-5 fruits.
The taste of the Pink Hit tomato is sugary, it is highly appreciated. Fruit aroma is strong.
The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in the second (autumn turnover). Regardless of the season, the manufacturer guarantees crack resistance. This ability is maintained even when the average fruit size is exceeded, achieved by competent fertilization.
Characteristics of the Pink Hit tomato
Pink Hit tomato is classified as a beef variety. Its fruits are fleshy, the percentage of the content of the middle pulp is higher than that of the seed chambers. Characterized by multi-chamber – 4-6 segments.
Productivity and ripening period of Pink Hit tomato
In terms of ripening, the Pink Hit tomato is classified as an early hybrid. Harvest ripens in an average of 60-65 days. About 3-3,5 kg of fruits are harvested from the bush.
Pink Hit tomatoes are dense and hold their shape well. Together with excellent transportability, this minimizes losses during harvesting and transportation. The keeping quality of fruits during the implementation process is high.
Disease and pest resistance
One of the goals of breeding the Pink Hit F1 tomato was to obtain a hybrid resistant to adverse factors. As a result, the variety received high immunity to a number of viral and fungal diseases characteristic of the culture:
- tomato mosaic;
- fusarium wilt (fusarium);
- verticillosis.
The hybrid has moderate resistance to yellow leaf curl virus.
Methods of Use
Tomato Pink Hit belongs to salad varieties. Its main purpose is fresh consumption. The hybrid is also suitable for processing. Harvest is used for preservation, freezing in the form of mashed potatoes or sliced.
Advantages and disadvantages
The hybrid Pink Hit forms 4-5 large tomatoes on the fruit brush, but at the same time, creases are not characteristic of it. This feature has a positive effect on the yield of the variety.
Pros:
- high yield;
- earlier maturation;
- large fruits;
- excellent taste and aroma;
- fleshy, juicy pulp;
- immunity to a number of viral and fungal diseases;
- drought tolerance;
- good adaptability to adverse conditions;
- transportability;
- high commercial quality;
- resistance to cracking;
- the possibility of growing in the autumn turnover.
Cons:
- the need to form a bush;
- the period of fruiting and ripening is extended.
Peculiarities of growing
Pink Hit tomato is planted in the ground through seedlings. Its cultivation takes an average of two months. It is recommended to plant seedlings in greenhouses when the soil warms up to 10 ° C. Depending on the region, this is the period from mid-April to the end of May. By the time of planting, the seedlings should have 9-10 true leaves and a flower brush.
It is better to plant tomatoes after green manure, legumes, corn, zucchini. The predecessor should not be other nightshades – this entails soil depletion, an increased risk of diseases and pests.
When moving into the ground, adhere to the scheme of 2,5-2,7 plants per 1 m². This means that in a classic planting with a meter interval between rows between bushes, 37-40 cm are maintained.
1-1,5 weeks after the seedlings are moved to the ground, they begin to tie to the vertical trellis. It is carried out systematically every 7-14 days.
Pink Hit is an indeterminate variety. Its cultivation implies the mandatory formation of a bush in one stem. Every 5-7 days, pinching is carried out. As the bush forms, excess leaves are removed, but only 1-2 at a time.
When planting, seedlings are watered abundantly. After this, moisturizing is not required for several weeks, this stimulates the development and strengthening of the root system. Then the culture is watered every 5-7 days, spending 15-20 liters of water. Leaves and stems are not affected, water is poured under a bush. The variety is resistant to moisture deficiency, but it is better not to let the soil dry out more than 3-5 cm.
After watering the tomatoes, loosening and ventilation is necessary. Top dressing is carried out every 2-3 weeks. The scheme after planting seedlings in the ground is as follows:
- after 2-3 weeks, a mineral complex, for ten bushes 10 liters of water, 15 g of ammonium nitrate, 35 g of potassium sulfate, 55 g of superphosphate;
- with mass flowering and fruit formation 2-3 foliar top dressings, per 100 m² 5 l of water, 1 g of boric acid, copper sulfate and zinc sulfate, 5 g of urea, potassium sulfate and superphosphate;
- during fruiting, 35 g of ammonium nitrate and superphosphate, 55 g of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water, consumption of 1 liter per bush.
The Pink Hit tomato is harvested gradually, but at least once every 3-7 days. Otherwise, the ripening of the remaining fruits will slow down.
Pest and disease control
The Pink Hit tomato has high resistance to a number of diseases, but immunity to the yellow leaf curl virus is average. It has serious consequences, the risk of infection in greenhouses is higher. Prevention measures:
- fight against virus carriers (tobacco, greenhouse whitefly) – traps, preparations such as Aktara, Iskra, Konfidor;
- observance of crop rotation;
- autumn and spring digging with weed cleaning;
- disinfection of greenhouses, garden tools.
To prevent pests, tomatoes are treated with such preparations:
- Aktara;
- Engio;
- Karate Zeon;
- Match.
Conclusion
Tomato Pink Hit is a large-fruited indeterminate variety of Turkish origin. It attracts with excellent immunity to diseases, high yields, early ripening, the possibility of growing in different seasons. The care of the hybrid is standard, the formation of a bush, pinching is obligatory.
