Characteristics and description of the variety

The Tarasenko variety is based on several varieties and hybrids, one of them is the multi-fruited Mexican tomato San Morzano. The result of the efforts of an amateur breeder was a varietal tomato with medium early ripening, striking in its yield.

Characteristics of Tarasenko tomato has the following:

  • bushes of an indeterminate type, often reaching a height of 2-3 meters (because of this, the tomato is called liana-shaped);
  • the stems are powerful and thick, the leaves are simple, hairless, reminiscent of potato leaves;
  • there are a lot of flowers on the tomato, inflorescences are located in the form of a bunch of grapes;
  • fruits ripen approximately 120 days after the appearance of the first shoots of tomato seedlings;
  • the root system of the Tarasenko tomato is very well developed, while the root does not go down, but branches underground, which allows the plant to feed on minerals and water from the soil;
  • the structure of the fruit clusters is complex, about 30 tomatoes are formed in each of them;
  • the first flower brush is located above the ninth leaf, the rest alternate every two leaves;
  • tomato variety Yubileiny Tarasenko has good resistance to low temperatures, so it is often grown in the middle lane and even in Siberia (under film shelters);
  • the variety perfectly resists most diseases, including late blight, brown spotting;
  • the color of the fruit is red-orange, their shape is round, slightly elongated, there is a small “nose” at the end of the tomato;
  • the average fruit weight is 90 grams, on the lower clusters the tomatoes are larger than on the top of the bush;
  • the ripening of Tarasenko’s tomatoes is gradual, the crop can be harvested for 1-1,5 months;
  • the taste of fruits is high, tomatoes are great for pickling, tasty in salads and fresh;
  • tomatoes have a lot of dry matter, so they have a fleshy pulp and are perfectly stored;
  • the yield of the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety is high – up to eight kilograms of tomatoes can be harvested from one bush, but for this you will have to take good care of the plants.
Advice! Since the ripening of the Jubilee Tarasenko tomato is uneven, it is recommended to harvest the crop during the period of blanche maturity – the fruits will ripen perfectly in room conditions.

The taste and aroma of Tarasenko tomatoes are very good, so they like to eat them fresh, put them in salads. The tomato has a thin but strong peel that does not crack during salting or pickling – tomatoes are also great for harvesting for the winter. It will not be possible to prepare only juice from the Jubilee tomato crop, since the fruits are very fleshy, there is little liquid in them, but the sauce from them will come out well.

Tomato benefits

This variety has practically no flaws. If you take good care of the bushes, do not spare fertilizers and water for irrigation, carry out the prevention of pests and infections, the Jubilee Tarasenko will certainly please you with a consistently high yield.

Important! The creator of this tomato claimed that 8 kg per bush is not the limit. If you correctly lead the plant and take care of it correctly, the number of fruits can be doubled.

The Jubilee Tarasenko variety really has a lot of advantages:

  • excellent fruiting, practically independent of external factors;
  • good taste of fruits;
  • the possibility of long-term storage and suitability of tomatoes for transportation;
  • resistance of the bush to diseases and the ability to tolerate a decrease in temperature;
  • very good yields.
Attention! Unlike most indeterminate hybrids, the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety is intended for outdoor cultivation, but the tomato also feels great in a greenhouse.

How to grow

This variety is completely unpretentious, but, like all tall and productive tomatoes, Jubilee Tarasenko needs proper care. In the climatic conditions of Our Country, tomatoes are grown in seedlings, so you first need to sow the seeds.

Important! The gardener can safely collect seeds from his own tomatoes, because the Jubilee Tarasenko is a varietal tomato, its seeds contain complete genetic information. That is, over the years, the tomato does not “degenerate”.

Growing seedlings

There is nothing complicated and unusual in growing seedlings of Tarasenko tomato: they grow it in the same way as seedlings of other varieties:

  1. Planting dates depend on the climate in the region. In the middle part of Our Country, Tarasenko seeds are sown for seedlings at the end of March. You need to focus on the fact that by the time of transplanting into the ground, the seedlings should “turn” two months old. For greenhouse cultivation of tomatoes, seeds should be sown a couple of weeks earlier.
  2. The soil for tomatoes should be loose and nutritious, it must be disinfected. The acidity is preferably low or neutral.
  3. Seeds should also be disinfected. For this, a solution of pink manganese is suitable.

  4. It would be nice to treat the planting material with a growth stimulator. For example, “Immunocytophyte”.
  5. The seeds are laid out according to the scheme 2×2 cm, they need to be deepened by 1,5-2 cm. They are sprinkled with dry soil on top and watered with warm settled water. Bury the box with a film and wait for the emergence of seedlings.
  6. When the bulk of the seeds hatch, the film is removed. Tomatoes are placed on the windowsill, not far from the battery or other source of heat.
  7. Tomatoes dive in the stage of a pair of true leaves. Tarasenko needs large containers for picking tomatoes, because the roots of the tomato are powerful – cups of 250-300 ml are suitable.

Advice! Seedlings of Yubileiny tomato varieties are prone to stretching. To prevent this from happening, you need to illuminate the tomatoes with electric fluorescent lamps.

Planting tomatoes in the ground

Before planting in the garden, tomatoes are usually hardened. This should be done 10-14 days before the upcoming planting, the temperature is lowered gradually. By the time the seedlings are transferred to the ground, each plant should have 7-8 leaves, the presence of a flower ovary is possible.

The landing rules for Yubileiny Tarasenko are as follows:

  1. In advance, the beds are watered with a solution of potassium permanganate and dug up.
  2. Holes for tomatoes are made in a checkerboard pattern, the distance between them should be 60-70 cm. The depth of the hole is large – about 30 cm, the diameter is about 15 cm.
  3. Seedlings are deepened to the first true leaves, sprinkled with earth and lightly tamped the soil.
  4. If the tomato is too long, it is planted at an angle (you can even put the seedlings on the ground, digging the roots).
  5. Immediately after planting, tomatoes should be watered with warm water. The first few days after this, the seedlings are not watered until they get stronger.

Tarasenko tomato care

Tomatoes do not need complex care, but all liana-like varieties require a special attitude towards themselves – the gardener must take this into account.

Tomato care is as follows:

  1. When the seedlings get stronger, an additional leaf will appear on it, it is necessary to tie up the tomatoes. It is better to use a trellis – supports in the form of stakes and a wire stretched between them. A rope or a thin strip of soft cloth is lowered to each tomato, and the stem is tied.

  2. After watering or rain, the earth must be loosened.
  3. The bush is formed in one or two stems. The remaining shoots must be removed at intervals of 10 days throughout the entire growing season of the tomato. The length of the stepchildren should not exceed 3-4 cm, otherwise their removal will be too traumatic for the plant.
  4. It is also better to cut off the lower leaves, only do it gradually – removing 2-3 leaves per day.
  5. About three times during the summer, tomatoes are treated with copper preparations to protect the bushes from fungal infections.
  6. Tomatoes are regularly watered, weeds are removed between rows, bushes are inspected for pests.
Attention! When the Yubileiny Tarasenko tomato variety grows to 170 cm, its top needs to be pinched off, leaving a couple of leaves. If this is not done, the vine will grow up to 300 cm, which will negatively affect the size and quality of the fruit.

Igor Petrovich, Shakhty
Last year, I planted a tomato Legend Tarasenko and Anniversary. Almost the same tomatoes grew, which differ only in the shape of the fruit. The bushes turned out to be tall, I pinched them at a height of about two meters. There were a lot of ovaries, tomatoes constantly bloomed, until autumn. I was afraid that the ripening tomatoes would break off the branches, but this did not happen, as they ripened gradually. But the last flowers had to be cut off, anyway they would not have had time to give a harvest, since autumn had come. From a dozen bushes of both varieties, we collected several buckets of excellent tomatoes. Next year I will definitely plant these tomatoes again, especially since I have collected a lot of seeds!

Conclusion

Reviews about the tomato Jubilee Tarasenko are mostly positive. Gardeners from the central and southern regions have no problems growing this crop, but in the North it is better to use film shelter at least until June 20.
