All varieties of this variety have common characteristics:
- a powerful stem does not stop growth, despite the large number of formed fruit clusters;
- suitable for both greenhouses and open ground;
- gives a bountiful harvest, one fruit cluster can produce up to 9 tomatoes;
- mid-late variety, which begins to bear fruit 4 months after sowing;
- has resistance to many diseases;
- unpretentious, gives a good harvest even in a shaded area.
Tomatoes have an attractive presentation and can be stored for a long time, while also ripening outside the bush.
To obtain seedlings, De Barao tomatoes are recommended to be sown in March. To do this, you need to do the following:
- Prepare seedling potting mix. It should consist of regular soil from the garden and humus in equal parts.
- We fill the containers, moisten the soil. We plant the seeds at a distance of 2 cm. Sprinkle with the nutrient mixture no more than 0,8 cm thick.
- Now the box with seedlings needs to be covered with foil and left in a warm place.
Seedlings will appear in about 5 days. From this moment we remove the film and provide the sprouts with a temperature regime: in the first week 15 ° C, in the second we increase it to 20 ° C.
We plant plants with 5 true leaves: in the greenhouse – at the end of May, in open ground – at the beginning of June. After planting, pour abundantly with warm water, trying not to get on the leaves and stem
They are tall plants and must be tied to wooden stakes. Watering is carried out strictly at the root; leaves, flowers or fruits cannot be wetted.
This variety must be pinned. A tomato bush should be formed into one stem, maximum two. The lower leaves must be removed. The first time we do this, when the first fruits have formed in the lower part of the stem. All subsequent removals are carried out as new leaves grow.
