Tomato Adam’s apple

Climatic conditions today are changing at an incredible rate and not for the better. Tomatoes, like many other vegetables, do not like changes and frequent weather changes, so varieties are gradually losing their relevance and need to be updated. Experienced gardeners know perfectly well that tomato varieties need to be updated regularly in order to get a rich harvest every year.

To solve the problem of constant search for new varieties, breeders bred tomatoes with high resistance to diseases and constant changes in temperature and humidity. Among the novelties of domestic selection, the Adam’s Apple tomato stands out.

Description

Tomato Adams apple

“Adam’s apple” refers to mid-season, high-yielding and tall varieties. It is intended for cultivation in the closed or open ground. The bushes of the plant reach a height of 1-1,8 m, therefore, a prerequisite for growing a tomato is its garter and pinching.

Advice! To get the greatest yield from one plant, it must be formed as it grows into 2 stems.

Ripe fruits of the “Adam’s apple” are smooth, rounded, rich red in color. The weight of one vegetable ranges from 150 to 300 grams. The fruits taste juicy, with a pronounced taste of tomato. The yield of the variety is high. From one bush you can collect up to 5 kg of tomatoes.

In cooking, tomatoes of this species are used for eating raw, for preparing vegetable salads, and also for canning.

Features of care

The variety is unpretentious in cultivation. To achieve maximum results, remember that:

  • tall varieties need a timely garter;
  • regular pinching increases the chances of fruits to ripen and significantly speeds up this process;
  • good resistance of the variety to changing climatic conditions increases the plant’s resistance to diseases, but prevention will also not be superfluous.

Every year I grow tomatoes in my dacha. I plant plants mainly in the greenhouse, sometimes I plant a couple of bushes in the garden. This year I planted a new variety “Adam’s apple”. The packaging says that the tomato can be grown both in a greenhouse and in open ground. I decided to check this statement of the manufacturer. The seedlings were planted in a greenhouse and on a garden bed in a ratio of 2: 1, i.e. about 70% – in the greenhouse and 30% – on the street. To my surprise, the bushes planted in open ground grew well, were noticeably stronger than their greenhouse counterparts. The manufacturer didn’t cheat. The plant is really not afraid of temperature changes and does not require the creation of greenhouse conditions. The yield of the variety pleased me. I will definitely plant these tomatoes again next year.

Planted a tomato “Adam’s apple” this year for the first time. I always plant tomatoes in the garden, and not in the greenhouse, so I select varieties in accordance with this condition. This summer hasn’t been particularly happy with ideal weather, so at first I was a little worried about my harvest. As it turned out later, quite in vain. The tomato crop was rich. The taste is simply amazing. The fruits are juicy, fleshy. I recommend this variety to all gardeners for outdoor cultivation.
