Tolperis VP – use and dosage of the drug

Tolperis is a drug used to reduce skeletal muscle tension, it has a central effect. The preparation acts on the central nervous system and has analgesic properties. Tolperis is available as tablets and can only be obtained with a prescription.

Indications for use of the drug Tolperis

The active substance of the preparation is tolperyzon with muscle-relaxing properties. Tolperis is given for the symptomatic treatment of post-stroke spasticity in adults. Tolperis tablets should be taken orally after food.

Dosage – Adults: 150–450 mg daily in 3 divided doses (1-3 tablets 3 times a day).

Note:

  1. In elderly patients, treatment with Tolperis is started at low doses and then gradually increased depending on the effectiveness and tolerability of the treatment.
  2. In patients with moderate renal or hepatic impairment, it is recommended to gradually increase the dose with close monitoring of the patient’s condition and organ function. It is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Tolperis – contraindications and warnings

  1. A contraindication to the use of Tolperis is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or to eperisone.
  2. Tolperis should not be used in patients with myasthenia gravis.
  3. It is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
  4. Tolperis should not be used during pregnancy (especially in the first trimester of pregnancy), unless the doctor considers it absolutely necessary. Do not use during breastfeeding.
  5. Do not use in children and adolescents.
