To drink or not to drink? Why is the feeling of thirst dangerous?

To preserve youth, beauty and health, we spend a lot of time, effort and money. Meanwhile, you can achieve what you want absolutely free and without too much stress. The main rule that must be followed strictly is adherence to the drinking regime.

Alla Polyashova, a nutritionist from Nizhny Novgorod, told about what kind of Drink will bring maximum benefit, how much liquid should be consumed without harm to the body in the program “Hello!” (NNTV).

“All metabolic processes in the cell and in the body as a whole are impossible without the participation of water. For example, in order to assimilate food, you need water. Moreover, water is in its pure form, and not in the form of tea, coffee, jelly, etc. Because drinks belong to the category of food, not water, since certain substances are dissolved in them that give them taste.

There are many different opinions about the volume of water consumption. Someone advises drinking 2–2, 5 liters of water a day, someone thinks that there is never too much liquid and that you need to drink as much as possible. In fact, there is a reasonable rate – 30 ml of water per 1 kg of body weight.

For example, if your weight is 70 kg, then the daily allowance for you is 2 liters of water. But if you drank a little before, then you need to “drink” to the norm gradually, so that there is no heavy load on the body. If it is difficult for you to drink the norm of water, because it seems tasteless to you, you can put a slice of lemon in it, which will add aroma and taste to the liquid. “

Less water means more bodies

“Today the number of overweight people is growing catastrophically. And not the least role in this massive obesity is played by the wrong drinking regime. A person gains weight when metabolic processes are inhibited in his body, and this is due to an insufficient amount of water. After all, a person is 2/3 composed of water, and all metabolic processes are simply impossible without it. So if your weight climbed up – you don’t drink enough water, if your joints start to “crunch” – you don’t drink enough water, your head hurts, especially after sleep, you don’t drink enough water, etc.

Our body is very smart, and if it lacks something for normal life, it will try to get it in a different way. For example, the center of a person’s hunger and thirst is located in one part of the brain, and if you don’t drink enough water, the body will require more food in order to get at least a little water from it. This means that instead of drinking a glass of calorie-free water, you eat a bun / sandwich with sweet tea / coffee – and you get extra carbohydrates, “carefully” processed by the body into the fat layer.

In addition, an insufficient amount of water in the body leads to thickening of the blood, and this is fraught with thrombosis and other unpleasant consequences. You can drink at any time of the day (before meals, after meals, during meals, between meals), the main thing is to drink and do not forget that cold water inhibits the production of digestive juices. Don’t wait for the feeling of thirst! When you feel thirsty, this is already a signal of dehydration.

It is especially important to observe the drinking regime when we are overtaken by acute respiratory infections, ARVI or flu. With sweat, we lose up to a liter of water a day, so during viral infections we need to drink more than usual. “
