Tips from British designer Trisha Guild on how to make your home beautiful

Recently, the interior in the English style is gaining more and more popularity, in this regard, I would like to know about the main preferences of the British, who know a lot about the design of their homes.

The famous designer, Commander of the British Empire, founder and mastermind of the Designers Guild company, created by her in the early 70s, Trisha Guild is not for nothing called an expert in the field of color. She, like no one else, succeeds in juggling with bright colors, creating a truly unique and harmonious interior. She managed to discover the concept of lifestyle in the interior, according to which its various fragments are ideally combined with each other, creating an original ensemble.

– This is a very difficult question, because there are many different styles, from classical to modern. And the combination of these directions is beauty, which makes it possible to discover unique perspectives. In my opinion, this is what creates personality.

– Personally, it seems to me that this can be a great option as decorative items. Plus, these things add personality, no matter how old you are. In the end, these are just details that make the most ordinary interior original. The way they are used, of course, changes over time, but the basics remain the same. With the help of such elements, you can create a completely modern style.

– It is actually very difficult to combine a large number of colors and patterns. Therefore, I would recommend choosing 3-4 basic shades, with one of them acting as the main one. And then you can already work in this color palette. For example, whites and neutrals are really very important: they are foundational in almost any style. They add lightness, graphics, space and relevance to the interior.

– It seems to me that from the moment you find a balance between the chosen palette or color, simple elements and neutral shades, the overall perception will look harmonious. For example, I cannot imagine my life without bright shades, especially green. I like to use it as the main one – this way you can convey the entire natural palette. And the emerald green hue is so deep and full of life that it makes any room unique.

– Of course, the hallway gives character to the whole house. But I perceive the design of the space as a whole, so that everything looks harmonious, in the same style.

– The hallway is the place in the house where you find yourself first before entering the rooms. This is where information is exchanged, which is why I recommend using neutral shades and embellishments so that they blend in perfectly with the rest of the space, which is done in vibrant colors. Many people choose white as their primary color, but why not consider using a gray, chocolate shade, or even a mixture of blue and green. For example, I often choose the color blue, because other bright shades look more advantageous against its background. I like to create character in the areas where I spend more time: bedroom, living room, kitchen. Here I attach particular importance to fabrics, beautiful ceramics, accessories, carpets, etc.
