Vegetables and fruits shriveled
It happens: they forgot to put them in the refrigerator, and in a warm room, cucumbers or tomatoes have lost moisture and become soft. You can give them a fresh look using cold water, to which a couple of teaspoons of vinegar is added. Dip the vegetables in the liquid and let stand for an hour.
The greens withered
You can arrange a contrast shower: alternately immerse bunches of lettuce and parsley in cold or warm water, and then send the fragrant bouquet to the refrigerator. In general, after purchase, it is better to put greens in water and keep in a cool place.
The bread is stale
Let’s make a reservation right away, this applies to edible bread, not moldy. To give the baking freshness, you need to sprinkle it with a few drops of water and place it in a hot oven for a few minutes. Or just hold it over steam.
The soup turned out to be liquid
The easiest task is to make the first course thicker. You can add grated raw potatoes and boil until tender. You can season the soup with flour and milk sauce (fry a little flour in butter, add milk and stir thoroughly). Another option is to add fine vermicelli.
The cake is not baked
There may be many reasons, but more often than not, the plentiful filling prevents the dough from baking. Therefore, the middle falls through and remains wet. Of course, ideally, cover the cake with foil and send it back to the oven to bake over low heat. Or put a sheet of wet paper, it will not let the top burn, and the middle will be baked in the meantime. But if this is not possible, then make a creative baking design. To do this, remove the raw middle, cover everything with cream or whipped cream and decorate with berries, dragees or sprinkles.

If not completely, then not scary. We take the product out of the mold and carefully remove the burnt layer. This can be done with a knife, or with a sieve or grater – if in baking shortbread, for example, dough that crumbles easily.
The soup is salty
It is very convenient to have bags of rice at home. Then you need to boil the cereal in the broth, which will absorb the excess salt. Just the side dish will be cooked. Another option is to add raw grated potatoes or noodles and simmer for a few minutes. By the way, if the mashed potatoes are too salty, you can add a raw beaten egg to it, this will correct the taste of the dish. Tomatoes also help out – if they are combined with prescription products, then they can also remove excess salt.
Rancid butter
Do not rush to throw it away, it will still come in handy in the kitchen. Pour oil with water with a spoonful of baking soda and put on low heat. Then drain the water and pour the milk one to one and let the butter melt again. It is good to fry in such oil, add to baked goods or season porridge.
The cheese has dried up
Make a batter (beat an egg with milk), roll in flour and fry in vegetable oil. It will make an excellent appetizer for sweet tea, green salad, and meat dishes.
Cheese is difficult to grate
Some types of hard cheeses really do not grate well, break, stick. But if you grease the graters with vegetable oil, things will go faster and better.
Semolina is burning
If the pan is already on the stove, then it is better to shift the contents, dilute with hot milk, let it boil, stirring constantly. And for the future, keep in mind: in order for the semolina to boil and not burn, you must first boil it in water in an aluminum pan, and at the end of cooking add milk, boil and turn off the heat. Semolina on water and in aluminum dishes will not burn, and the porridge will be even tastier.
Bought old beef
It is always difficult for young housewives to choose meat, and due to inexperience, you can take an old tenderloin that will take a long time to cook, and it is not a fact that it will turn out to be soft and tasty. But there is a secret for this case: rub the meat with dry mustard and let it stand for 12 hours in a cold place. And before boiling, rinse it thoroughly.
Milk sour
We felt that the milk is sour, but it still does not last, which means that we need to make curdled milk, cottage cheese or even cheese out of it. An important point: we are talking either about high-quality milk without preservatives. Sour milk should be left in a warm place until the whey separates, then strain and put under a press. This is how cottage cheese and homemade cheese are prepared. The process will speed up if the milk is heated. And also sour milk is suitable for baking pancakes. We remove the acid with soda on the tip of a knife and sugar.
The borscht is too sour
We fix it either with salt, it removes the acid, but it is better to choose a large stone, and not small iodized, or grated sweet carrots. But you must first fry it in vegetable oil.
The broth is cloudy
Opaque broth is not good for noodles. In the sense, the soup looks much more appetizing with a transparent base. Therefore, it is necessary to bring to a boil over medium heat, and then remove the resulting foam with a slotted spoon. After that, turn the heat to a minimum and cook the meat until tender. But if the moment of boiling is missed, it doesn’t matter either. Remove the meat and strain the water through cheesecloth, then put the meat back and continue cooking. Or, after removing the meat from the pan, add the egg white into the soup, it curls up from the hot liquid and collects all the cloudy sediment. It remains only to strain the broth through cheesecloth and boil it with meat.
The dough has not risen
Yeast dough is insidious. A certain skill is needed in order for the baked goods to turn out to be truly fluffy and rich. Such dough does not like drafts, temperature changes. But if after a certain period of time the dough does not fit, try adding more yeast and putting it in a warmer place. The dough should rise.
The pies are stale
They forgot to close the bag with bagels or pies, and they dried up, and in the morning I really want tea with something delicious. Microwave the plate of baked goods for about half a minute and you have a fresh dessert again.
