Tincture of figs on vodka (moonshine, alcohol)

Spicy drink with original taste and pleasant aroma. Homemade fig tincture with the addition of ginger and cloves will appeal to lovers of strong, but soft alcohol at the same time. Sweetness can be adjusted to your liking.

Suitable figs of any variety and condition: dried, dried and fresh. Fruits should not be spoiled, rotten or moldy. As an alcohol base, it is permissible to use store-bought vodka, ethyl alcohol diluted to 40-45%, well-purified moonshine (optimally double distillation) or cheap cognac (light notes of oak will appear).

Ingredients:

  • vodka (alcohol 40-45%, moonshine) – 0,5 liters;
  • fig fruits – 5 pieces fresh (3 dried or dried);
  • fresh ginger root – 15-20 grams (optional);
  • cloves – 1 bud (optional);
  • sugar – 50-200 grams (to taste);
  • water – up to 150 ml (optional).

If you do not like ginger or cloves, these spices can be omitted, but the aroma and flavor notes will be poorer. Water is needed only to reduce the fortress.

1. Chop washed figs and peeled ginger root into 1×1 cm cubes (approximately). Put the pieces in a glass jar or bottle.

2. Add cloves. Pour in vodka and stir. Close tightly.

3. Insist in a dark, warm place (at room temperature) for 10 days. Shake once a day.

4. Remove the cloves. Strain the resulting tincture of figs through cheesecloth, squeeze the pulp well.

5. Add sugar to taste (to reduce the strength, you can use sugar syrup with water). Mix.

6. Keep the drink for 3-5 days in a dark, cool place to stabilize the taste.

The fortress of homemade tincture on figs without sugar and water is 34-36%. Shelf life – up to 3 years.
