Tincture and liqueur on strawberries: 4 recipes at home

Tips before starting

  1. For all four recipes, you first need to carefully sort out the berries, remove moldy, rotten and spoiled berries.

  2. As an alcohol base for strawberry tincture, you can use vodka diluted to 40% alcohol.

  3. You can use any strawberry (garden or forest) to make a drink.

  4. Strawberries should be ripe, green ones can give a sour taste.

  5. To prepare a liquor or tincture of strawberries, fresh, frozen or dry berries will go (dry must be taken half as much as indicated in the recipe).

Classic strawberry liqueur recipe (no alcohol)

Ingredients

  1. Ripe strawberries – 2 kg

  2. Granulated sugar – 550 g

Method of preparation

  1. Sort the berries and rinse in a large container with water. For convenience, you can use a colander.

  2. We separate the strawberries from the green cuttings and transfer them to a sterile glass container.

  3. Add granulated sugar per 1 kg of strawberries 275 g. Very important fill the entire contents of the used container, observing the necessary proportions.

  4. Distribute the sugar evenly by shaking the container well 2-3 times. Then fix gauze on the neck and put the container in a warm place for 2-4 days.

  5. When signs of fermentation appear (sour smell or foam), instead of gauze, you need to put a water seal or a clean glove with a small hole in your finger. And place the container in a dark place (temperature range from 18 to 26C). If the liqueur has not begun to ferment, then you need to add 1-2 tablespoons of unwashed raisins or fresh strawberries.

  6. After 2–6 weeks, fermentation should end and the liqueur should be filtered through a homemade filter or special filters should be used. Filtration can be repeated several times until the desired transparency of the liquor is obtained. Now you can pour strawberry liqueur with a strength of 8 to 12% into bottles. When stored in a dark, cool place, the shelf life is no more than 3 years.

Strawberry tincture on vodka

This is the easiest and fastest recipe for making strawberry tincture.

In this recipe, you can use crushed strawberries, but rotten or moldy berries should be removed.

Ingredients

  1. Strawberries – 1 kg

  2. Granulated sugar – 1 kg

  3. Vodka – 300 ml (you can use alcohol diluted to 40%)

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the strawberries and remove the stem.

  2. We grind the berry with granulated sugar (you can use a blender or another method convenient for you).

  3. We shift the grated strawberries into a glass container and fill it with prepared alcohol.

  4. Now put for 1 week in a cold dark place (can be in the refrigerator).

  5. Carefully filter the tincture through a homemade or special filter and bottle it.

  6. Store strawberry liqueur on vodka in the refrigerator.

Strawberry tincture on vodka with feijoa

This is an original recipe for alcoholic strawberry tincture, as feijoa fruits will add some piquancy and originality.

Ingredients:

  1. Strawberries – 150 g

  2. Feijoa – 150 g

  3. Granulated sugar – 50 g

  4. Vodka or diluted food alcohol – 500 ml

Method of preparation:

  1. We wash the feijoa and strawberries under running water and put them in a jar.

  2. Pour sugar on top and pour prepared alcohol.

  3. Close the lid and send for 14 days in a dark place, shaking the jar every day.

  4. We filter the finished tincture through a homemade or special filter and bottle it.

  5. Store the tincture in a cool dark place

Strawberry tincture on vodka with blueberries

Blueberries and strawberries appear at the same time and this is a wonderful tandem for pouring wild berries. The color will be very rich, and the smell will be very fragrant. You can use frozen berries for this recipe.

Ingredients (for a 3 liter jar)

  1. Strawberries and Blueberries – 3 cups each

  2. Granulated sugar – 600 g

  3. Vodka or diluted food alcohol – 1,8 l

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse the berries and put them in layers in a jar, each layer, well sprinkled with sugar.

  2. Close the lid and leave for 12 hours (the berries should release juice).

  3. Add prepared alcohol and mix well.

  4. For 30 days we put in a dark cool place.

  5. After a month, strain well and pour into glass bottles.

  6. The finished tincture is stored in the cellar or refrigerator.
