This Saturday and Sunday, every woman will be able to have a Pap smear free of charge in a special cytobus next to the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. The tests will be carried out as part of the VIII National Social Campaign “Beautiful because healthy”. The organizer is the Polish Organization of the Flower of Femininity, which encourages women to conduct regular examinations. This year’s campaign is held under the slogan “Drop in for a gynecologist checkup”.
On January 21-22, the cytbus of the Bydgoszcz Oncology Center will be erected in the parking lot in front of the Palace of Culture and Science, from the side of the “Kinoteka” cinema. Between 10.00 a.m. and 22.00 p.m. you will be able to perform an examination and talk to experts in the field of gynecology, oncology, dietetics and aesthetic medicine. At the same time, each of the ladies will be able to make professional makeup for free.
Cervical cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in women. It is the fourth leading cause of death among women due to cancer in the world. A Pap smear is the most effective way to detect precancerous lesions or cancer in the cervix at a very early stage of development. Then the treatment is simple and gives very good results.
The report of the Polish Society of Gynecology Oncology (PTGO) published last year shows that in Poland in 2013, cervical cancer accounted for 3,7 percent. all newly registered cancer cases among women, being the sixth most common cancer diagnosed in women. At the same time, cervical cancer is the seventh cause of cancer deaths in women in Poland.
