The initial phase of haemorrhoid treatment should be diet modification and drinking more water. It will be beneficial to minimize the time spent on the toilet during bowel movements so as not to expose the hemorrhoids to excessive and prolonged tension. If the conservative measures are not effective, soothing, anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling and astringent ointments, suppositories and creams are introduced.
