Tilapia meat is popular for its low fat content, high amounts of easily digestible protein, and lack of bones. It also has a delicate and juicy taste. Fillets of this fish are most often sold in stores, which greatly simplifies the cooking process.
Ingredients: – 4 pcs. fillet of tilapia; – vegetable oil; – 4 tbsp. tablespoons of flour; – the head of an onion; – salt and black pepper to taste.
Defrost tilapia at room temperature, wash under running water and pat dry on a napkin. Then rub with salt and a little black pepper. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Dip the tilapia fillets in flour and place in the pan. Cook for 2 minutes on each side over high heat. The crust of the fish should be golden brown. Then reduce the heat, cover the skillet with a lid and simmer the fillets for another 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer the finished tilapia to a plate. In the same oil, fry the onions, cut into half rings, until golden brown. Place it on the fish and serve it on the table.

Delicate tilapia in its own juice
Ingredients: – 4 pcs. fillet of tilapia; – ½ lemon; – salt and black pepper to taste; – 8 thin feathers of green onions.
Prepare tilapia as described above. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Put each piece in foil, put a thin circle of lemon on top and sprinkle with lemon juice. Wrap the foil carefully so that there are no gaps. Place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C and bake for 20 minutes. Arrange the finished fish on plates, garnish with green onion feathers and serve with gentle mashed potatoes.

Steamed tilapia with herbs
Ingredients: – 4 pcs. fillet of tilapia; – 2 teaspoons of ground nutmeg; – lemon; – 2 sprigs of rosemary; – a sprig of basil; – salt and black pepper to taste; – boiled water – 500 ml.
Wash the fish fillets and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut in half and season with salt to taste. Then roll in a mixture of spices and herbs. Pour water into a steamer and wait until it boils. Dip the fish in there. Place the lemon slices on top of the tilapia. Cook for 10 minutes over high heat, then reduce heat and simmer fish for another 5 minutes. Place on a platter and serve. Boiled rice, potatoes, asparagus, or tender puree are suitable as a side dish.
Tilapia with vegetables in a pan
Ingredients: – 3 pcs. fillet of tilapia; – 1 onion; – a clove of garlic; – 1 tomato; – 5 olives; – 100 g of champignons; – ½ teaspoon of oregano; – salt and black pepper to taste.
Fry the onion, chopped in half rings in vegetable oil, add garlic, chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, salt, pepper and oregano to it. Bring to a boil. Place the sliced tilapia fillets in the skillet. Bring to a boil again. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 13 minutes. Decorate the finished dish with olives.
