Tiger begonia is a small ornamental plant, its height does not exceed 30 cm. It differs in very beautiful flowering in winter. The flower got its name due to its unusual coloring. The flower leaves are brown-green with a pattern that resembles the color of a tiger.
The plant is considered not very whimsical to care for, but certain conditions must be created for it in order to avoid diseases. The best place for begonias is on the north side, which is not exposed to direct sunlight. But you can’t leave it completely without the sun, otherwise the leaves will become nondescript. The flowers of this plant are not very attractive. They are usually removed so they don’t take nutrients from the beautiful leaves.
Tiger begonia does not like direct sunlight
In order for tiger begonia to please the eye with its fluffy leaves, it must be provided with sufficient care. The plant loves moisture: the soil and the air around it must be moist. In summer, you need to water the flower more often than in winter. But, if the ground around the flower is moist, watering can be skipped.

The plant can only be watered with water at room temperature so that the roots do not catch cold. Water should not enter the flower outlet. If droplets remain there, the begonia will quickly die. The leaves will begin to wither the next day. To avoid this, you can pour into the pan instead of the top of the pot. For the same reason, begonia should not be sprayed with water. Moisture will linger on its fleecy leaves, and they will begin to rot. Better to put a plate of moistened moss next to it.
Begonia care begins from the moment it is planted. Each spring, the plant needs to be transplanted into a larger pot. If this is not done, it will lose its beauty, it will look painful. After transplanting, the leaves of the begonia must be cut off so that it can take root. The first few days she is kept in a darkened place.
Begonia loves fertile soil. Coniferous, turf and leafy soil must be added to the soil. All these components in small amounts will help the plant feel comfortable. When transplanting a flower, at the bottom of a new pot, it is necessary to lay out a layer of expanded clay for drainage of at least 1 cm.
