Thyroid nodule – Our doctor’s opinion
As part of its quality approach, Passeportsanté.net invites you to discover the opinion of a health professional. Dr Jacques Allard, general practitioner, gives you his opinion on the thyroid nodule :
The vast majority of thyroid nodules are benign and do not cause symptoms. Only a small percentage of them are cancerous. However, it is advisable to see your doctor if you notice an abnormal lump in your neck, especially if you are having difficulty breathing or swallowing. In addition, you should consult if you have symptoms of hyperthyroidism, namely unexplained weight loss, palpitations, tremors, insomnia, nervousness or irritability. Dr Jacques Allard, MD, FCMFC |
