“Three in a Boat” is a light beer brewed in the German tradition. The brand is produced by OAO Tomskoe Pivo, one of the largest enterprises in the Siberian Federal District. The volume of production is 300 million decaliters per year. The company’s collection includes more than three hundred awards received at industry-specific Russian and foreign competitions.

Historical information

The first building of the Tomsk Brewery was built in 1877 by the German entrepreneur Karl Krueger. The enterprise successfully worked for seven years, but then was forced to close, as the land was required for the construction of university buildings. Kruger had to start construction again, the production of a foamy drink resumed in October 1884. The factory was equipped with the best equipment of that time and the production of fifteen varieties of beer began.

In the early 20s, the plant became state property. Production volumes were small, and during the days of the anti-alcohol company, production was reduced by six times. The plant experienced a rebirth in the 90s, having received new owners. Technological lines were equipped with German and Italian equipment, and all processes began to take place automatically. OAO “Tomskoe Pivo” ranks first in Russia in the production of draft varieties.

Beer “Three in a Boat” got its name in honor of the novel of the same name by the English writer Jerome K. Jerome. The creators of the brand set themselves the goal of embodying the idea of ​​male friendship, and the foamy drink is positioned as a pleasant addition to joint travels and trips. The design of the bottles was developed by Punk You Brands branding agency.

Production features

The technology is based on the old traditions of German brewers. The company constantly cooperates with experts from Germany and the Czech Republic in the development of new product formulations. The best varieties of hops and malt are used, as well as our own collection of yeast. Kieselguhr filters are purchased from suppliers in the USA, Germany and Austria. The enterprise was the first in Western Siberia to receive a certificate for compliance with international quality standards ISO 9000.

Beer “Three in a Boat” was released in 2014. Within a few months after the start of production, sales exceeded the planned volumes by three times. The Tomsk brand was included in the Forbes magazine rating as a product with one of the most successful visual concepts.

Interesting Facts

During archaeological excavations at the site of one of the inns in Tomsk, a glass bottle of beer was found, produced by the Karl Kruger factory at the end of the 99th century. The laboratory staff restored the composition of the drink by XNUMX%, and the glass container took its place on the shelves of the enterprise’s museum.
