Spring in the Russian box office begins with the release of three new films at once, and moviegoers with a wide variety of tastes and preferences will be satisfied: among our recommendations are a comedy of marital status, a documentary and even animation.
“Love, weddings and other disasters”
Family comedy. Family life can begin with happy-comic episodes, but then the genre, it is possible, will change. “Love …” focused on just the first phase: dating, weddings, anticipation of the endless “together”. Moreover, among the anticipators were those who usually organize weddings: an elderly snob, an organizer of high-class marriages, and a young nonconformist who invents shocking wedding events … Ridiculous but decisive actions, funny and tender actions, rash but correct decisions – all this creates the beauty of “Love …”, adhering to the rules of the best Hollywood rom-coms.
old horses… Director Dennis Dugan is a comedian with experience and flair: he was the first to entrust the main role to Adam Sandler, and the actor’s first high-profile successes are associated precisely with his films. Screenwriter Eileen Kuhn wrote the acclaimed sitcoms Mad About You (174 episodes) and Fashion Magazine (149 episodes), while her husband and co-creator Larry Miller has been involved in more than 120 projects as an actor, mostly comedies, and in particular – in Beauty.
…and young wolves. If you think that the trends of the latest history of “Love …” bypassed, then you are mistaken. It has both anti-ageism and aesthetic feminism (the beauty of a middle-aged woman is represented here by Diane Keaton, the former muse of Woody Allen himself), and the full value of a person with the so-called “disabilities”, and female independence from a man, and a young African-American tourist guide, from whom crazy all visitors to Boston under 30 years old.
Genre – romantic comedy. Available from March 11th.
Cast: Maggie Grace, Diane Keaton, Jeremy Irons, Andrew Bachelor.
Jeremy Irons
If there are classic actors in modern cinema, then almost the main one is 72-year-old Jeremy Irons. One of the greatest British tragedians, he played countless Shakespearean roles on the stage, and in the cinema he was Nabokov’s Humbert Humbert, Proust’s Swann, Rodrigo Borgia, and Batman’s butler Alfred. He has worked with Louis Male and David Lynch, Franco Zeffirelli and Claude Lelouch, Bernardo Bertolucci and David Cronenberg… But Love… is only the second comedy of his career.
“The House of Pierre Cardin”
Now that high fashion is increasingly heading down to sweatshirts and sweatpants, it’s nice to remember the days when fashion was art. And it was created by artists. Like Pierre Cardin.
Genre – Documentary. Participants: Pierre Cardin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Naomi Campbell, Sharon Stone, Alice Cooper.
At the box office from February 25th
“Einbo. Heart of the Amazon
The Dutch in animation have long competed with the Americans. And here is the new record of the master of family cinema, Richard Klaus. And in it there are strong girls saving the virgin selva, and talking animals, and jokes like at Pixar. But European is thinner.
Genre – full-length animation.
