I became famous because I thought ten times more often than the rest. At least once a month.

Just don’t ask me for a scientific definition of what «thinking» means. I know that this is not quite the same as “thinking”: they think, that is, they effectively process information, to one degree or another, everything and always, including crows. I also know that this is something close to «awakening», when a person seems to wake up and begins to see what he is doing and why. However, it seems that «seeing» does not mean «thinking»: one can simply contemplate one’s life awakely, without including its reflection.
If you allow, as a working not even a hypothesis, but rather a picture, I will outline my current understanding of what it is to “start thinking”, I will outline it like this. In ordinary life, in a familiar environment, when information is digested and issued automatically in your mind (perhaps in your head), you don’t need to think. You can just live, because everything that needs to be happening. And even if it does not happen, you can not think the same way, but instead scold yourself or others: for what “does not happen”.
Just some horror!
Without thinking about anything, a person, nevertheless, always knows that “he is right”, and no matter what new information comes, it is put into his already existing cells and is understood as already familiar, known, old.
Why does sugar dissolve in water? Well, it’s a chemical reaction. Why does thunder rumble? Well, this is Elijah the Prophet riding a chariot. All clear.
But, at the same time, then it becomes clear why Osho always insists that thinking kills the world, makes it dusty, gray and old. Because everything is known, everything is clear. What to think?
However, in some individuals, due to completely incomprehensible reasons, instead of this automatic process “everything is clear”, the process of total questioning, total self-criticism and total reflection is switched on, when a person, looking at the surrounding reality, begins to ask himself: “Am I right? Do I understand what is happening? Why do I think so?” and “Where am I? Who am I? And who are you?» And he begins — with interest, curiosity, passion and diligence — begins to think.
Now, if a coin comes up heads ten times in a row, then what is the probability that the eleventh time it comes up tails? According to your science — the same, and everyone agrees with this, but I know that no, the eagle should not fall! I argue with science, because I thought about it and even checked it!
What turns on this «suddenly» that starts the head, which begins to think?
Let? Happenes. And sometimes it doesn’t work…
And, maybe, not “what” launches, but “who”? And then who is this — who? A few observations…
First: in order to wake up more often and start thinking, you need to love wake up and think. It also helps a lot if you know how to do it — you know how to think creatively.
Second, those who think have a different facial expression. You know, they say about those who do not think: “His face is not disfigured by intellect,” but this, on the other hand, suggests that an attentive interlocutor will always say by facial expression whether the person in front of him is thinking or not. Attention, I emphasize: I am more and more convinced that a thoughtful facial expression does not so much reflect the internal process of thinking as it starts it. Anyone who has learned such a face and is used to holding it becomes a thinking person. And whoever is used to living with a stupid face or simply involved in various interesting emotions can be an interesting person, but he will not be thinking.
Yes, the view that thinking is triggered by a specific facial expression is nothing more than my hypothesis. At the same time, you will agree that this is an interesting and productive hypothesis. How could this be checked? Think, gentlemen?
Those who now have the correct facial expression can begin to think: is thinking really triggered, like a key, precisely by facial expression?
