According to local residents, the elephant named Pai Salik is a famous prankster and often invades the surrounding households in search of food. The 35-year-old fat man lives in a nearby forest, but comes out of his hiding place at night, said local park ranger Amnat Norasin.

The owner of the house said that his cat literally rages from the presence of other animals on its territory, the website reports. News18.com.

The funny incident is not the only one, as there is a serious conflict between humans and wildlife, which escalates from time to time when elephants wander into farmland to collect food.

The elephant, Thailand’s national animal, is a protected species. Killing or harming him carries a maximum prison sentence of up to three years and a fine of 1000 baht (about 3000 rubles).

According to environmentalists, about 2000 elephants live in the wild jungles of Thailand and in several protected national parks in the country, and about the same in captivity.
