Think smarter!

Physical activity improves our mood. A similar effect can be achieved if you try faster … think.

American researchers Emily Pronin (Emily Pronin) from Princeton University and Daniel Wegner (Daniel M. Wegner) from Harvard invited volunteers to read aloud – faster or slower – appearing on the screen statements. Half of the participants received optimistic phrases (“I feel great”), and half – sad ones (“I want to go to sleep and never wake up”). Those who read their text very quickly felt a lift in their mood after reading, even if they received pessimistic statements. So, if physical exercises do not work out in the morning, try to stimulate your thought – this will also give you a charge of vivacity!
