These drugs may not be available at the pharmacy

Insulins, vaccines, inhalation powders and anticoagulants – incl. such products are included in the new list of products at risk of non-availability. Drugs that are missing in 5 percent are placed there. pharmacies in a given province.

The list published by the Ministry of Health included 208 items – medicines, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices. The preparations on it cannot be exported abroad.

Once again, the list includes, among others Infranrix vaccine (against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b infections).

Bebilon Pepti 2 DHA is also on the list again when a child is allergic to food proteins, including cow’s milk and soy protein.

Some insulins are also threatened with lack of availability, incl. Actrapid Penfill, Humalog, Insuman Basal, Lantus and Levemir.

It also includes, for example, Pulmicort nebuliser suspensions and Berodual inhalation sprays; the antiepileptic Vimpat and the anticoagulants Clexane and Fragmin. The list also includes Combigan eye drops and Neulasta solution for injection used in some cancer patients treated with cytotoxic chemotherapy.

According to the so-called the anti-export act on the list includes those drugs that are missing in 5 percent. pharmacies in a given province. Information on deficiencies is reported by voivodeship pharmaceutical inspectors to the chief inspector, who informs the minister of health about this fact. The minister informs about the shortages of drugs in his announcement. The list is one of the tools to reduce the problem of uncontrolled drug exports from Poland.
