These activities protect against dementia. They are easy, free and fun

Seniors at risk of dementia can slow its development through regular physical activity, researchers at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina said. The type of activity, however, is of great importance. What kind of exercises are you talking about?

296 seniors were recruited for the study they were sedentary and had memory problems. The participants were divided into two groups. The first group performed regularly aerobic exercise moderate to high intensity and the other – exercise stretching and balance.

All participants were diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, ie, cognitive decline associated with aging, but not yet dementia.

Seniors exercised for at least 30 minutes four days a week (two days with an instructor and two on their own). Cognitive tests were performed at the beginning of the program and then six and twelve months later.

It turned out that the cognitive abilities of both exercise groups for 12 months did not deteriorate, while other studies indicated that in people of the same age with mild cognitive impairmentwho led a sedentary lifestyle for a year, there was a marked deterioration in mental performance.

For memory and concentration, it is worth using an infusion of ginseng root. Ginseng root now buy on Medonet Market.

“We expected more protective aerobic exercise to be more protective, but it turns out that much less demanding exercise also produces similar results, which indicates that less physically fit seniors can also achieve positive results. However, it is very important that the trainings are performed under the supervision of a trainer or someone providing interaction ”- comments the author of the analysis, Dr. Laura Baker. (PAP)
