Hundreds of thousands of people are in quarantine in Poland. And there will be more infections, including people under quarantine, in the near future – according to experts’ opinions -. The government wants to introduce new solutions. And fast – reports Wirtualna Polska.
The government will announce a decision on the possible reduction of the quarantine on Friday, according to unofficial information from wp.pl.
According to analyst Piotr Tarnowski on Wednesday, almost half a million people were in quarantine (for comparison: a week ago it was 183).
On Thursday morning, the Ministry of Health updated that number to 619.
The quarantine is to be shorter – by how much?

Deputy Minister Waldemar Kraska spoke to the Polish Radio about reducing the quarantine to 5-6 days. – Western countries do it not only because of a different variant of the coronavirus (Omikron – ed.), But also because so many people are infected that the economies or the functioning of states were at risk – he explained. He added that the decision will be made in the coming days.
– We take into account the indications of experts that the period between infection and the first symptoms, the virus incubation period, is very short, the period in which we become infected and sick is shorter, therefore we plan to shorten the period of quarantine and isolation, which, among others, will accelerate the return of medics to work – recently explained the spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Wojciech Andrusiewicz.
