There is hope for people with MS. Polish scientists have discovered an effective therapy

The therapy developed by Polish scientists is a hope for patients with multiple sclerosis. As the research of the conducted experiment on qualified patients shows, it is above all effective and safe. In patients who participated in the study, it brought positive results and improved health. It is a success of Polish medicine. Is this a breakthrough that will change the lives of all MS patients?

  1. Almost 2,5 million people worldwide suffer from multiple sclerosis, and 60 in Poland. people
  2. Polish scientists have developed a therapy using the patient’s own bone marrow cells to treat multiple sclerosis (MS)
  3. Administration of stem cells by autotransfusion of own bone marrow resulted in significant improvement in several patients

Multiple sclerosis is an incurable disease. It usually affects young people and is most often diagnosed between 20 and 40 years of age. There is no drug that would cure the patient, all preparations available on the market are designed to delay the development of the disease and improve the patient’s quality of life. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the immune system in the world population. It can develop in three main forms: relapsing-remitting, secondary progressive and primary progressive.

According to the data of the National Health Fund, a total of 11 patients were qualified for treatment as part of drug programs for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, which in Poland is only about 030%. patients with multiple sclerosis. This data shows how much there is to do in treating patients with multiple sclerosis. It is worth emphasizing that as much as 20 percent. of patients two years after the diagnosis of MS are on a pension.

It turns out that multiple sclerosis can be reversed, it can really change a patient’s life incredibly. These are people who used to be in a wheelchair, and today they are walking, taking care of their families, they simply live a normal life and this is remarkable news. And the second thing is remarkable is that it was done by a Polish company – says Jacek Rozenek, actor, coach, volunteer, works and supports many initiatives aimed at helping the disabled.

Safety and effectiveness

The innovative method of treatment involves the use of a small amount of the patient’s own bone marrow. Bone marrow collection is a safe and well-known medical procedure that has been used for many years in hematology. The taken bone marrow of the patient is subjected to a technological process in sterile conditions, with the use of advanced medical devices.

As prof. Andrzej Klimek, the main researcher of innovative therapy, an outstanding specialist in neurology, full professor and academic teacher, the initiator of the creation of the Neurological Therapy Clinic at the University Clinical Hospital. Military Medical Academy – Polish scientists found that the administration of stem cells by autotransfusion of own bone marrow in a few patients resulted in a significant improvement.

The effects of therapy among patients

Maria, who underwent the experimental method of treatment, experienced a significant improvement in her health. In 2000, the patient was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, and the last powerful relapse occurred in 2013. After using stem cell therapy, the patient’s health improved significantly.

This cannot be compared. I could not peel potatoes, drink coffee, go to a restaurant, I had epileptic symptoms, I did not see, I rode a wheelchair on crutches, only a stationary bike at home. I couldn’t do anything. I needed the help of third parties – says Newsrm.tv, Maria Mańkowska, President of the Włocławek Society of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis, a patient who underwent innovative therapy.

Many positive effects were observed in patients undergoing therapy, including reduction of the poster surface area in the magnetic resonance image, a significant improvement in motor performance was achieved, a significant improvement in the mobility of patients / volunteers, a reduction in the overall scale of disability in all patients, a 50% reduction in the symptoms of multiple sclerosis was achieved. in relation to the baseline value of disease symptoms prior to transfer.

People with multiple sclerosis, the ones I know, are the people who most often lose hope, give up and withdraw from life. It is absolutely devastating, not only physically, but also mentally, so if there is any method, and there are 4 patients, it has amazing results, I think that these people need to be helped, and there are a lot of these people in Poland – says Jacek Rozenek, actor , coach, volunteer, works and supports many initiatives to help the disabled.

The results of the experiment show that the treatment of multiple sclerosis can be continued with the use of intravenous autologous bone marrow stem cell transfer due to its efficacy and safety. The obtained results of the therapy indicate that single administration of the drug is highly effective.
